Great Interview! I had BeOS on my old G3 Mac, got the prerelease CDs at a Be show by non other than Jean Louis Gassée at Vienna Tech University. This was great stuff at a time when Mac OS 8 was aging and nothing new was on the horizon.

If there was no Fractal Audio, what would your rig be?

I am already on my way back to the bone. Should I be able to sell my Ultra for a half decent price, it's gone. It happened that I use very raw patches anyhow, no effects. Playing around with the bells & whistles is nice but I don't need or use them. For recording it will be back to amp only...

Temporary Measures taken due to Server Load

Since "New Posts" is my bookmark for the forum I only see the latest 10 threads that got an update. How can we keep up with posts/threads with this limitation? It seems to be some setting in the forum configuration, because if you - for example - list all posts by a user you also get only 10.

I bought a new Standard from G66 a year ago and after six months I sold it to buy a new Ultra from G66. When that one is sold I might order an Axe II - should they became available.

I became an Axe FX user a year ago with firmware 9.0x or something. I always liked the sound. Every update changed the sound a bit and I had to re-tweak my patches. The sounds of my Axe FXs got better. I don't know it if's because of the new firmware or because of me getting better at patch...

Just emailed them, they say I can get it in June. I think it was a really bad design choice to go with the "lunchbox" look. They should have done a rack unit, which is coming in the future what I heard. It looks a bit like this old German Dynacord tube amp

I have never heard of Vandal before but googled it and it seems to be a German software modeller, like Guitar Rig, Amplitube, ReValver,... Is it better then those products? I have used Software/Plugin Modelling in the past, but they always have a bit of latency and I simply don't like plugging...

grantcooper2: You can use the analog out1 and go to your current audiointerface and set this to 44KHz For monitoring flexibility in the DAW I would always use a real audiointerface.

Crossover Ethernet Cable?

Look at the wire colors in the plastic plugs from the underside. If they are the same in both plugs (e.g. orange wire on the left, blue on the right) it is a regular cable. If they are opposite it's a x-over.

Years ago I destroyed my Line 6 FVB floor unit by using a crossover Ethernet cable from my POD XT Pro (because the cable was a nice red). Is there a similar danger to the MFC, when connecting it to the Axe-FX II?

AC30 tone without the monster treble?

I have always hated the AC30 sound. First in real, later in modellers, too. Generally I am not a fan of the EL84 sound, the 6V6 is my small tube of choice.
