    Crisis? No but a break

Yeah, I was one year at home with my first daughter and sometimes I thought „Yeah I 12 hour shift would be easier“ but I will not miss a second and I will stay at home for and year again with my second daughter.

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

Except you changing the Tonestack in the HBE to Plexi. More open, more raw, then raise the MV, it’s worth experimenting. The new Brit Silver caught my attention and with a TS in front, it’s a beast.

    My JCM800 Just Blew Up

I had two JCM 800 in a stereo setup, I sold both because I preferred the JCM 900 SLX over the 800, what a beast.

This. I would love to have a Marshall V30 cab pack like the York Audio one.
  13. Sashman

Do You Use the Enhancer Block?

It depends on the preset. I do use the enhancer block for solos. But in most preset I do have a subtile chorus and/or a pitch block which does sound better (to my ears) for mimic a second guitarist or to let your guitar sound wider.
  14. Sashman

Dynacab Pack Purchasers - Looking for Feedback

Yeah, I‘m a big fan of Justin York‘s IR‘s and I have used them exclusively. But when I changed completely to Dyna Cabs I could Immediately dial in a similar tone, or a tone that I do like even more. But yeah, also yesterday I compared the 1960 Dyna Cab pack with Justin‘s Greenback Cab and the...

Dynacab Pack Purchasers - Looking for Feedback

I just love Greenback Cabs and if I could only have one cab, it would be a Greenback Marshall cab. As Leon Todd shows in most of his videos, you can use a Greenback cab for nearly everything. The 1960 TV Dyna Cab is just awesome and together with Cab Lab, it’s a real game changer!
  17. Sashman

Dynacab Pack Purchasers - Looking for Feedback

I absolutely agree! Of course more and/or different cabs were definitely a big benefit.

Floyd Post Broke through Schecter! / NGD

Music Man for example doesn’t use bushings with their Floyd Rose equipped guitars. They are screwing the studs right into the wood without any bushings. So that also leaves more wood onto the body. In all my years of a luthier, I never had Music Man a guitar with a loose stud etc. but maybe...

Dynacab Pack Purchasers - Looking for Feedback

Yes and no, I bought the 1960TV pack and you definitely have more microphones, export them as lotta high res IR‘s and the ability with 360 degrees So you definitely have benefits when you buy a cab pack that’s already in the unit.
  20. Sashman

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

I like to share my 1ooW Plexi preset. I do love greasy 80's sounds, so this preset is based on Leon Todd's (@2112 ) Greasy Soldano preset. There are two different 1960 TV Dyna cab settings on channel a and b. If you like 80's Rock enjoy!
  21. Sashman

    Your current fav Marshallesque amps?

Yeah this! I had a Friedman BE 100 Deluxe and I really do like the BE/HBE and Atomica in the Axe III. But actually I prefer a Plexi (100W) by far! It’s just a raw sounding beast. If I would ever a real amp again I would look for a Plexi and not for a hot rodded modern version etc.
  22. Sashman

SLO. Anybody digging this model? Am I missing the point?

I could never bond with the Soldano until this Video from Leon (@2112 ) thanks Leon!

IRs York Audio Master Thread - Newest Cab Pack: KW 412 M25-SH

Thank you so much Justin! Now I’m using only surgical cuts with the Parametric EQ and it just sounds epic. I used high cuts before and it doesn’t sound „right“ or natural to me. But now using surgical cuts and a low cut makes everything pleasant and natural. Thank you!
  29. Sashman

Noticeable benefits of going FRFR cab over guitar cab/power amp.

You are more flexible with a FRFR speaker because you have access to thousands of IR‘s from various speaker cabinets. From Fender to Mesa etc. If you are using a guitar cab and power amp, you are limited to that combination. And as other already have mentioned, with a FRFR speaker system you get...

    BlueAmps Cabinets

I did work for over 25 years as a studio guitarist and I mostly used to hear a guitar through studio monitors and FRFR/PA Speakers. And sorry mate I still can’t reproduce the loss of the upper 1-2 octaves. And I do have a CLR and RedSound MF10 and various PA/FRFR Speakers.
  32. Sashman

    BlueAmps Cabinets

I can’t second that. I also use Nubert speakers X 3000RC. And those are HiFi Speakers which aren’t made to sound flat. BlueAmps Cabinets

Studio Monitors are made for a different purpose. If you are only playing at home or in a studio situation, I would get a good pair of studio monitors. The Blueamps sound great at low volume and you can compensate a lot with the optional eq but they are mainly build for live purpose.

Floyd Post Broke through Schecter! / NGD

Yeah I always had and I actually have two similar guitars to swap them as quick as possible. I didn’t had any issues during a gig in the past 25 years but it’s always relaxing and good to know that there is a backup which you can easily switch to if necessary.

POLL: the single amp channel for set-and-forget

Here is another one. I had massive fun with it the last couple days! I tried to replicate a Jose modded 100Watt, so have fun. If you like to thicken up the sound, activate the subtile chorus and enhancer.
  46. Sashman

Floyd Post Broke through Schecter! / NGD

I had many many guitars from various brands, broken like that on my workbench. It’s not that difficult to repair but in your case, from what I can see at your photos, I would probably rout a new piece of harder wood and and glue that in. I would not guarantee that if you glue that together...

    Legacy Vs. Dyna-Cabs

Yeah! I bought the 1960 TV Dyna Cab pack yesterday and together with Cab Lab it’s just awesome. It’s my main cab right now.

  55. Sashman

POLL: the single amp channel for set-and-forget

This! I love the 6CA7 s my main amp, it’s pure awesome but as a set and forget amp I would choose the SLP or the 100 Watt jumped every time.
  56. Sashman

    Legacy Vs. Dyna-Cabs

Here it is. It's heavily inspired from a EVH preset. Turnoff the drive block, delay and pitch for a pure Plexi sound. I dial in all my presets at a high volume the parametric eq does tidy up the sound.
  57. Sashman

    Legacy Vs. Dyna-Cabs

Of course, I will post the preset as soon as I’m home.
  58. Sashman

    Legacy Vs. Dyna-Cabs

After spending some time, I’m completely changing to Dyna Cabs now. And yes I missed something at the beginning but after getting completely into this, it’s awesome how great Dyna Cabs are. Of course you will always have some special cabs that you can’t replicate. I mainly use Plexis and the...

Question about Ernie ball Musicman guitars

I had five EBMM Guitars, you can’t adjust the pickup height on some models like the JP, Luke etc. But there are some ways like washers or foam to rise the pickups. Guitar Maintenance: Tool Kit

Absolutely. I have several Wera tool sets for different purposes. And yes it’s always a better option if you only buy what you need. In my case I lost my whole guitar workshop and tools in the flooding two years ago. So decided to buy some sets instead of building a new workshop.

  65. Sashman

    Legacy Vs. Dyna-Cabs

I like them both but I’m primarily using my York Audio IR‘s. I’m still not able to get that sound from Dyna Cabs so it’s good to have both, there is a warmth or range that I could not get yet from DC but I’m shure that only about my incompetence.
  66. Sashman

    Guitars: how many and brands?

Even in my time as a professional musician I only had three guitars. My main guitar, a similar spare guitar to change them during gigs and a third guitar for different tunings. Red Sound 12" GRFR.....

Yes it’s only the half way point. I know the RedSound 12 LG and the Atomic and I actually own a pair of Elis 8 and MF 10 and in my opinion it you want an honest comparison, I can only say that you can’t compare them.
