Axe-Fx III USB Audio Driver version 5.10 (Windows)

I keep getting audio dropouts in Studio One with this new driver. Comes and goes and sometimes it just drops and I have to reboot everything. Never happened with the previous one. Thinking of rolling back. I'll report if it's solved.

Still working with support on it. What do you have set as Output 2 in the I/O settings? Are you trying to get output from Output 2 in your DAW?

FM3 Firmware Release Version 1.06

I've had this happen to me a couple of times on 1.06 as well. Had to reboot the unit to get the footswitches to respond again. Thinking of going back to hauling my Axe 3 for playing live for reliability.

Yup, nothing. I play a music file and get activity on that master volume line but nothing on the FM3 meters and no output. I also uninstalled the Axe 3's USB drivers in case they were conflicting and nothing.

I'd appreciate that! I go under Setup, Utilities, ADC levels. It shows the pedal levels it's detecting and I can't get it to go to 100% there. Mine gets stuck at around 88% on toe down after calibration. When I calibrate I can't get the bar to go all the way to the right either.

I use a modified TB-5 with @GM Arts firmware with My Axe 3 and it works perfectly. I actually liked it more than an FC-6 (or maybe it was just that I was used to the TB-5).

My understanding was that the signal was too low to go straight into the Axe's inputs... but if it works, it works! LOL I'm assuming it's a dynamic mic (no phantom power required) as well.

I have them almost flush with the pickup rings... lol. But yeah, I'll make sure I use a lower instrument level then. I didn't realize that the whole tickling the red thing had changed a bit from the Axe 2 to the 3. Thanks everyone for your input!

I don't think the Axe's input are actually clipping. I read elsewhere that the input level is designed not to clip, but to give the best S/N ratio. My question is why am I getting these different hard limiting ceilings in the recorded DI signal at different Instrument Input levels... Right...

Here's the waveform up close in Studio One... looks pretty flat, but not sure if Studio One's graphic representation of waveforms is accurate. I'm assuming like everyone else that the pickups are the one's that are clipping, but would anyone have an explanation as to why at 50% Instrument...

Sorry to hijack this thread but I though this might be related to the OP... When recording USB Input 5 or 6 directly on the Axe III for reamping, I noticed that the Input 1 (DI) wave forms that are recorded in Studio One get chopped off on the top and bottom (kind of like compression) and levels...

Any reason why I couldn't transplant an Eminence Beta-12CX in Seismic powered wedge?

I was thinking of doing the same to my powered 12" SAX, but just changing the driver to see how it sounded... haven't gotten around to it though. If you want to do this to a passive unit, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work as long as the speaker can be mounted correctly and the space...

Yup, I've gigged with it twice now as a backline cab on a pole with no problem at all. Behaved just like the CLR when I had it. Cuts through the mix well, but obviously not the same clarity. Still, for 300 bucks, if it lasts, it's a great deal. I've been using it for rehearsal too the same way...

I've only tested it at low volumes. I can't say it sounds the same... maybe somewhat boxier than the CLR but the bass and treble controls in the back help. I think that just the fact that it's coaxial makes it sound better than FRFR solutions with separate woofer and horn, especially at close...

Tried all that... no go... Cleaned everything up, did the special reset with #7 (allow signed drivers), did the security thing, it asks me if I want to install signed driver, I say yes install anyway, and I still get the error... the bootloader installation stops at about 1/4 way through every...

It took about a month after I got the shipping notice. No issues up until now... working on programming it tonight. Overall physically it's really nice, sturdy and well build. Buttons are rugged and it seems easy to program. Will report more details later.

Since I'm probably way down on the list for a CLR... interested as well... just saw this video and I don't see why it wouldn't work well for the axe... especially if you can tune out boominess or any other bad sounding frequencies with the DSP... Electro-Voice ZLX-12P and ZLX-15P - NAMM 2013 -...

Axe FX Ultra just hangs when powering on

This happened to my Standard a while back. The problem with mine was a defective oscilator of some sorts. I would email support and have them evaluate it for you. You might have to send the unit back to Fractal for the replacement of this component. Good luck!
