I understand completely. This happened to me yesterday. I had to start over. It at the end of the day I'm much happier with my tone than I ever have. Even the entire year and a half I've been a fractal user. The change is well worth it.

Wish Better tuner for AX8 and other (AXE, FX)

When I tune with a Peterson strobe tuner and then check that dead on tuning with my Axe FXii the axe fx tuner is always off. No matter what guitar I use. I have checked to make sure both tuners are set to A 440.

I saw Polyphia the other night

I saw them in Lawrence Kansas at a very small bar. They opened for Chon. They were very nice guys and I got to chat for a while. They were using the Axe FX ii for their rigs going direct. Here's a small snippet filmed with my phone. I think they said they're using the SOLO100 for lead tone.

Technically couldn't someone RTA their cabs, wedges etc. and compare it to the direct signal of the fractal and EQ their Cab/wedges accordingly? For example I'm running 2 10" wedges powered by a crown amplifier in stereo. Could I tune those wedges and power amp with a RTA mic and program and...

I love the sustain but not much drive in this tone... Has anyone achieved this? He's using the VOX AC30 on a Kemper. I know the fractal can do it, just wondering if someone has something close to start with? before I did in?

NGD, teenage 90's Extreme-fan me is giggling with joy :P

Nuno is why I started playing guitar. I saw Extreme open for David Lee Roth, Cinderella back in like 1990-91. Jason Becker was the guitarist for Roth. I think he only got to play 2 gigs before his disease took over. I had front Row and Nuno changed my life forever.

Rack Case that looks like a guitar amp head?

I'm not sure what approach I'm going to take yet. If I can score a powered cab then I'll go this route. At the moment I have a power amp that hinders this decision. Thanks!

The other downside to the Kemper vs. the Fractal I found was you are solely dependant on other people's amp captures. Which includes their preamp, mics, mic placement, mic choice, speaker cab, speakers and amp settings. Yes you can tweak some, and there are plenty of good tones out there but...

Don't get me wrong the Kemper is killer! As far as tone matching it dominates and only takes about 1 minute to get dead on but, the effects just aren't as robust. You get 1 delay, 1 reverb, 1 drive, 1 modulation in one patch. With the Fractal I can put 3 delays to choose from (long, short, ping...

I too was a Kemper owner and loved it but it lacked bigtime on the effects side. Due to the fact that I use mine live, I needed more robust effects for one patch instead of making 15 different patches with the same tone. For studio use the Kemper would be amazing, but live it definitely lacks on...

Cab Conditioning?

I've noticed mo matter what rig I use, 5150, POD HD500X, AXE FX2 etc. My tone always comes out the same. I'm more of a legato picker than a "pick every note guy" therefore it always pushes me to a rounder smoother tone with as much sustain as possible with as little drive as possible.

I have mine wired Eric Johnson style... I like being able to use the bridge pickup. I just lower the neck PU to balance out so they all sound good. I will admit, no other Amp modeler sounds as good as the Axe FX when it comes to the tightness of the digital low end. Line 6 prooves to be muddy...

If you could buy one cab pack?

What is everyone's favorite cab pack? Is there one that just stands out above the rest? My favorite Van Halen tone is probably 1984 or Van Halen II Any recommendations on cabs to achieve that? I'm also a huge Andy Timmons fan

Marshall JCM900 SL-X

I made this video years ago with an actual MArshall JCM 900. Is there an amp on the Axe FX2 that simulates this yet?

Feelin Good Live

Our church had it's 34th Anniversary a few weeks ago and we did "Feelin Good" I used a Bonamassa Les Paul and my axe fx 2 Hopefully this link works. It's just an iphone video from someone in the audience.

looking for this overdriven tone...

I will add some input that the Suhr guitar has a ton to do with this tone. I never believed until I played one in a music store. They are like butter. Very smooth pickups that breakup very smooth. No fizzy shrill highs or tubby lows. YEs, they can be stratty but definitely more smooth across the...

Comparison Chart?

Yes I've been a huge fan for quite a long time. Since he was using the POD 2.0 Kidney bean version. I know what his tone is usually made of but I mean come on... I have his exact tones, it would be great to learn from and tweak to my likings for sure :encouragement:
