back story:
On a party in -94, on the same night, I got to hear
Extreme, King's X and Saraceno. Having up 'til that point
basically only played Metallica, Vai and Satch, my focus and
listening was changed over night, and have since that time
been more focused on groovebased riffing and lead playing.
Since learning that Nuno used a Paduak N4 model for the recording
of III sides I was keen to get one. However, one never popped up for
sale in Sweden, and importing one from japan or the US would kill
me with the import taxes we have.
After playing one of the N4's Authentics in Tokyo last year the flame was reignited!
Started looking for a paddy again but most were either priced a bit steep
or had a too straight almost laminate looking wood.
Just recently though I was offered one through a forum (wasn't on sale bu the guy
had seen me looking for one). It's a 2007, he's the only owner, it's near mint.
Great price, in Sweden, and the grain is just perfection to me, very lively and
not very paduak-looking (almost more of a Koa or walnut vibe to it).
So, when I get the AX8, I foresee plenty of Extreme riffage being recorded
Anyways, enough rambling, enjoy the pis!
