What's your favorite amp model?

Friedman hbe, evh 5150iii red. Cleans its one of the usa clean models. I always want to experiment more but come back to these. I also like the brit silver which sounds close to my jubilee 25watter that I have, however its collecting dust and may be sold soon. :D

So true, for me its the pedals as well. When I had my analog gear I steered away from pedals. Didnt want to be stomping on a whole bunch when switching from clean to distortion for example. Now with my axe and fcb1010 its so much easier.

Why does my Axe sounded better through headphones?

Something else I have learned is to setup your presets loud (at gig level) then dial them back when playing at home. Also getting really good (pricey) monitors make a difference. I use crappy $20 Sony headphones and they sound great as well. Yet when I used frfr speakers they didnt sound...

On Amazon.ca the 50's are $50 more. Im on a strict budget so I will take the 40's for $150. :) I also like the fact it has 2 sets of cords, I do plan to use this when travelling as well so the straight cable would be awesome.

I looked them up and noticed on the box that the 32ohm is best suited for mp3 players and portable players. Probably because the smaller devices dont like the higher load on them. The 640ohm model says best suited for “higher end”systems. Looks like the 320ohm model best suits the axe fx...

Get the axe XL. If you are worried about those things, dont limit yourself. The ax8 is nice but its good for playing live and portability. If you are playing at home, a normal midi pedal should be all you need. Just my 0.02c. ;)

In the i/o menu i think, under pedal. you can select it to increase or decrease preset. Then you have to select 2 options: the start and stop preset. so set the start to your first preset, then set end to your last one. It will cycle through 2, 3,4, 5 then back to 2 when you hit the button...

Please help me decide buy or not to buy Axe FX ii

If you like tweaking every aspect of your guitar sound then this is for you. :) Its also pricey as I am discovering, buy a good frfr speaker unlike me and save yyourself some headaches. Hahaha

Something I tried this morning was turning up the volume 3/4 of the way full on the Alto. I normally turn them halfway because there is a notch there for “optimal” performance... says the manual. It definately tightened it up a bit to my ears. Lol... I will play with it some more a bit later...

Thanx. I have watched that vid and it helped a bit. However I think it is the alto speaker. Im planning on buying better frfr speakers in the future, for now I will have to live with these and the power amp/cab that is coming from a friend of mine.

I dont want to give up on it either but it is not feasible for me financially right now to send $800+ on a new frfr speaker. Im trying to work with what I can get, you know? That is why for noe I want to try my power amp with a passive Yorkville nx300 and still be able to use ir’s.... just to...

So these are the 2 passive pa speakers we have: Yorkville nx300 and Yamaha s2115h. Im thinking about grabbing the Yorkville because it is better condition.

So at my work we have a few passive speakers laying around. I know they are yorkville pa passives but the model escapes me... anyway, I have a bryston power amp as well, I am going to try that route just to test it. If I figure out the model I will post it. I am assuming I can still use...

Thank you for the help all, I agree that the AltoTS312 is the weakest link. I really hope to be able to afford a better speaker at some point.
