What are you using for sustain?

I've been using the Digitech Freqout, the only problem is that as the note dies off the effect cuts out. So to help with that issue I use a Voicesolo Fx 150 mounted on a mic stand at my guitars level.

    Increased Sustain (Without Increased Volume)

Extreme gain settings with the Bender fuzz get me there. It's all about EQ (experiment with Tone and internal EQ settings, especially mid boost). I've put a Comp block ahead of it at times. I know some folks find putting a Comp block after a fuzz is also effective, but I don't generally care for...

    Increased Sustain (Without Increased Volume)

...at reasonable volumes? Obviously there are a lot of factors, from string gauge, to guitar wood, etc. I am mostly curious to hear if there are any effects/settings in the FX8 that can help make vibrato'd notes sustain for as long as possible, without adding other external pedals like the FreqOut.

    Digitech FreqOut + Axe-FX II = Win

...this. Kudos to Simeon and all others involved in putting this together! There seems to be a lot more going on here sonically than what the Freqout does which makes it sound cool and different. Any cool Sustainer/Feedback Sounds?

The Freqout only simulates feedback. It uses high levels of compression and pitch-interval generation to do what it does. It doesn't energize the string to make it sustain indefinitely. Once the plucked note dies off, the Freqout will abruptly cut off the sound.

    Axe-Fx III Wish List

To me it doesn’t sound the same. It’s in the ballpark though. But I guess it depends on how much you use this type of thing. Still love my old Ebow and Paul Vo the Wond for this but these also sound different. The Freqout comes more close to a real sustainer pickup.
