What are you using for sustain?

I'm still waiting on my AxIII but in the meantime, I'm wondering how you guys tackle getting good sustain. I always struggled getting a good sustain on my AxII. The sustain I'm referring to is more like what you'd get from a sustainer on your guitar. Also, long sustain that turns into harmonic feedback. Brad Gillis discusses a good example in Sister Christian where he uses crazy volume. Anybody have any good advice on the AxIII?

I recently demo'd the sustain pedal that is currently out. It just sustains a note or idea when you step on it...and can ring over ideas as well almost like a piano sustain pedal. Would be a great AXE feature to add...I would imagine wouldn't be all that hard to put as an effect....

all about volume....short of that you have to do it artificially with aforementioned pedals, pups, etc

Also, adding a compressor and limiting how aggressive you are with your input noise gate and/or noise gate blocks will help with overall sustain.

A LP on 10. Seriously though, never had a issue getting sustain or feedback on the Axe II or now the Axe III

Same here, unless you are trying to get that Gary Moore live infinite sustain from feedback thing, any good guitar would have more than enough sustain.

I've been using the Digitech Freqout, the only problem is that as the note dies off the effect cuts out. So to help with that issue I use a Voicesolo Fx 150 mounted on a mic stand at my guitars level.

I should have clarified in my original post, I have good gear (R8, Anderson, etc), and some good heads (Two Rock, Mesa, etc), my main issue is playing through the AxeFx and using iem's for live gigs. For example, the local casino requires iems and front of house signal only. How do you set your patches to get good sustain without the volume feedback loop?

Can you run a small personal monitor or is it a totally silent stage? Something you can point towards your pickups?
