Does OUTPUT 2 need to be setup different than OUTPUT 1? I can't hear anything. :)

Thanks for your help! I have "guitar only" coming from Out 2 but have both guitar and my backing track playing through Out 1. Everything worked together before 12.03, so I am sure a default or something changed - I'm just not finding it. P.S. I do not have a FX loop in my patch.

I am having the same issue. I believe I have the correct settings in the I/O menu - Output 2 Echo, set to Output 1 and everything else is default (at least I have not messed with anything else). I'm on v12.03. The volume on output 2 is up too. I'm sure I am overlooking something obvious...

What Did You Have To Do For Your First Guitar?

I BEGGED my parents for at least two years before I received my first guitar. I received a 1985 Gibson SG on my 10th birthday - this was back in 1986. My family was extremely poor so I am not sure how they paid for the guitar, but my uncle was a professional musician (guitarist and songwriter)...

Strings you recommend?

I use Elixir Nanoweb Light / 0.10-0.46 on all of my guitars. I love the smooth feel and extra life you get from coated strings. The Elixir's Nanoweb coating is extremely light and does not affect the string's overall sound quality.

Any Beyer Dynamic DT770 Pro advice ? Axefx2 sounds kinda dull.

I tried them and returned them - although it was not because I thought they were dull sounding (they sounded really good to me).... BUT I think they need a headphones amp with the Axe. You might want to consider something with a lower impedance. Dutch brings up a good point about cab sims too...

I've owned Byerdynamic Dt 770s and Audio Technica ATH-M50s, but ultimately ended up with V-Moda M-100s. Love them! Excellent cans for EVERYTHING including un-amped iPhone and/or laptop use. They sound absolutely incredible with the Axe-Fx too.

What boost for high gain do you use, and why?

808, 808 mod, fat rat, or tube drive - depending on the amp model. I normally set the drive at or just above zero, and the level at or just below 10. Sometimes I give a tiny bump to the tone value, but otherwise, do not change any of the other settings.

Les Paul vs SG. What is your preference

I chose "no preference" because I have both and think they are both great guitars. I guess overall I would give the SG a slight edge, but both guitars have their strengths and weaknesses. Honestly though, as much as I love playing my Gibsons, my PRS Custom 24 is my favorite to play.

Aren't we supposed to avoid using the front panel and Axe Edit at the same time? If not, hitting ENTER on the front panel would do exactly what I wanted. It's funny how easy it is to overlook simple features like ENTER on the Axe... I've been an owner since 2008 - its probably time to re-read...

KrK monitors & EQ

I also use KRK Rokit 8 G2's and I am really happy with them. Mine are on stands and neither are directly against a wall or in a corner. They are a little bass-ier than some of the other monitors I've tried, but I've never found it to be an issue or something I could not dial out in my presets.

Axe FX freezes after updating firmware

Mine has started freezing immediately after updating to 10.09 too. I had compatibility issues with the new driver so I needed to use the old version with 10.6.8. I just reinstalled 10.06. I'm going to see if I can purchase a copy of Lion 10.07 from Apple since my studio's computer is too old...

Why use a power conditioner

I really have not had any issues or concerns turning everything on or off at the same time. I also have a tube amp, but it is plugged into a different power supply since it has to be powered on and off in stages, and thanks to the Axe II, it is rarely used.

I definitely agree with this. Do not feel guilty or bad for the seller. It was his/her responsibility to pack the unit properly and insure it for the full value. You paid a lot of money for something you did not get. Luckily using PayPal, you should be protected. Good luck with everything!

Firmware 10 and Axe Edit beta

On second thought, check the list of amps from the front panel of your Axe. It could be an issue with Axe-Edit. You might have to reinstall that instead.

They should still be there... You might want to try reloading the firmware and see if that helps.

Who are 100% satisfied with their Axes now after 10?

I was completely satisfied with my Axe-Standard. The Axe-Fx II continues to exceeded my expectations every time I turn it on. I also love that it keeps getting noticeably better with each firmware update. While I am completely satisfied with it, I am always thrilled to see new features...
