    Axe-Fx III Firmware 31.04 Public Beta #2

Forgive me for bringing this discussion back to topic (😉) but... I can't wait for news on this beta (or whatever comes next) given the new plugins and the added features found in them!

    MIDI board?

Hey, just wondering if you had better luck with Uno or Eureka? I just got the FCB 1010 and that thing is impossible to program! I really want to like it though, the format is ideal for me. Some people say they had success with some external editor, even with the stock chip... I'm curious about...

    Behringer FCB1010?

I realize that this is a very old post, but... Do you happen to have information on how to program the fcb 1010 with the stock chip? Is a specific usb-midi cable required? An editor? Tables of the III's midi commands that I need to get the 1010 to send? I would be forever grateful for any...

Wish Direct numeric entry for the ´´Parameter Range´´

I really struggle with that issue on my axe-fx 3 as well. All the wiki says is that it's a "technical limitation" but I am really hoping that it can one day be overcome. The adjustment by mouse is difficult and inaccurate.

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Yes, correct, my Pedal 2 is mapped to external 10. And what you did to try to replicate seems about right. I'm willing to "accept" the user error conclusion, though I still have no idea what the error would have been. Calibrate while on this preset borked it. Calibrate while on an empty preset...

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Here's a screen shot of my modifier. When I calibrated my Pedal with this preset selected, I ended up with a severe difference similar (but more extreme) to the photo posted by Bakerman. In my case the pre-cal bar could be up to about 30% before the post-cal bar even budged. Now that I have...
  8. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Ding-ding, we have a winner. Sleestak, you solved it. Huge thanks! In the setup > Pedal calibration function, it would appear that the curve of the modifier assigned to the pedal in the currently selected preset has, very surprisingly, an effect on the calibration (!!!) I selected an empty...

You guys are all awesome, thanks for the additional tips, I've got some things to look into when I get back home.
  10. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Just for giggles, I just used a multimeter to test the resistance range of my now infamous pedale. The resistance increases smoothly throughout the range from a low of 5 ohms to a high of about 9.5k ohms. On both of them. Baffling!
  11. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Yes, and yes. You see why I'm reluctant to even entertain potentiometer values and other details that seem to be irrelevant...
  12. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Why should it matter? Both of my pedals, and both of my cables, work just fine in the Pedal 1 input jack, and the whole enchilada fails when plugged into the Pedal 2 input jack! Am I missing something?
  13. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

Well, no... It doesn't matter which of my two expression pedals I plug into the Pedal 2 jack of the axe-fx, or which TRS cable I use. The problem is the same. So in my view this does not indicate anything wrong with the pedals or the cables. The only common denominator is the Pedal 2 input and...
  14. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

I swapped cables at pedal end, then at the back of the Axe-Fx, then swapped pedals... in all cases, it's pedal 2 that shows a calibration "curve" that entirely misses the first third of the pedal's travel. :(
  15. Dpoirier

Is there a way to bypass pedal calibration?

I'm using two third-party expression pedals on my III, but pedal two is not as linear as I'd like. When I go to "setup > IO > Pedal" and press Enter to calibrate pedal 2, it's worse. The two bars that show pre- and post-calibration show exacty what seems to be wrong: the pre-cal bar moves...

General Question - Depth Parameter in Amp Block

    Axe-FX III vs. Axe-FX II XL+

I'm struggling with the same "transition" difficulties. I wouldn't say that the III doesn't sound natural, but I've had my II XL for soooo long that it's perfectly tweaked for my guitar, my playing, and the sounds I'm aiming for. I was at 99.8% of my target, much better than just "good enough"...

  23. Dpoirier

Wish Descending order for time signatures.

Oh heaven yes! But as a user-selectable option (please!) Sometimes, I haven't done the math and I set the delay by ear, and one setting is really really close but not quite there, and the list is daunting because it jumps up and down. I'm sure I could spend 10 minutes to reorganize it myself...

Gator-type rack case for the III?

Oh cool! Two questions about it: (1) does it have "legs" or does it simply sit on the bag's bottom?... and (2) do you find it feels as "secure" as the other skb or gator racks mentioned in this thread?
  25. Dpoirier

Can external midi controller pedals be calibrated in the III?

I'm using a 3rd party midi floor controller that has two built-in expression pedals. These never reach 100% on the III when assigned as a modifier, and also don't increase linearly when swept from heel- to toe-down. I know, I should get FAS controllers and expression pedals but in the meantime...

Hey everyone, As I am anxiously waiting for delivery of my III, I am watching lots and lots of videos from several of the gurus out there, and one fundamental question hit me suddenly: where to store user presets? On my trusty old II XL, I was storing my own presets in slots 1 to whatever...
