Headless, fanned frets, *and* tremolo opinions?

This is still a wide possibility, post a clip of the tone you want or something from YouTube that is what you’re looking for.
This would be my idea of a near-perfect strat eob sound:
But I need it to be on a headless guitar, in this case Aristides. Can I get there?

Ah, yes, gotcha .

My PUs are a long way from a single coil strat type but I do have another Aristides with BKP Triptychs in neck and middle which gets some way towards a strat sound but it definitely wouldn't convince a purist!
Can you say a bit more about your Aristides with the Triptychs? What HB do you have in the bridge, and what alternative BKP do you think would be more strat-like in the middle and neck positions? I'm finding it really hard to spec my ideal Aristides as I try to summon the courage (and funds!) to place an order. I don't play metal, just classic rock really... Would I be happy with a Polymath and a pair of Triptychs?

Ha! You have it right there - a Polymath and a pair of Triptychs are exactly I went for. Spent a while asking advice from both Aristides and Tim @ BKP and that was the verdict. Now for me the Polymath is a little less intense (?) than I wanted ( I am usually high gain ) but it is very clean and well defined so it may well be ideal for you. It's lower output and does better match the Triptychs. The single coils sound like singles but not especially chimey like a vintage strat .

For me I far prefer the Silos I chose for my H/0. But had noticed a few customers being less impressed with these and suspected I'd made a mistake - no way - they are excellent (thanks Rabea🙂).

So there it is. As always YMMV but the Polymath Triptych combo does seem to work.

Speccing a build from scratch is a great thing but it introduces all sorts of variables not seen in an off the peg build you can just return. Worst case scenario is you can pretty readily change a PU if it doesn't work for you.

Hope that helps!

Remember one thing that’s not going to change on Aristides is the way the note behaves acoustically . I would suggest that anyone who wants traditional tone should play it unplugged to assess whether it will work for you. This is the fundamental characteristic of the bloom and attack regardless of pickup. I think it will work but traditional die hards may not like the immediacy.

I wish I had a chance to try Aristides vs Tom Anderson back to back :/
That pretty much the only two high end options I consider. But choosing between them seems impossible. Revered Anderson' sound vs Aristides headless shape and access to high frets.

The trouble with the internet is never underestimate the ability of reviewers to make even the very best equipment sound terrible.
