How to get some good hi gain tones

Motorcity Pickups will also work with you to get what you want, if I remember correctly. I can't remember the owner's name, but I've heard he will chat with you on the phone as long as it takes to get to know what it is you are looking for, and will deliver a quality product. US-based, too.

Best FRFR solution for metal in live applications

I have an ELX 112P, also, and it's a great speaker. Maybe has a bit of extra low end than some other FRFR speakers, due to its enclosure or other factors, so you might like that for metal applications

+1!! I was going to post here that "Little Fighter" is probably, pound-for-pound, my favorite solo ever. So many great ones on this list, but the solo in Little Fighter hit me when I was discovering guitar at an early age, and it still moves me to this day. Vito's an incredible player IMO!

Another thing I do to my JMP patches is change the tone stack of the amp to Brownface or Dr Z. If you haven't played with the tone stack option, I highly recommend it. That alone has added a ton of bottom end to my JMP tone.

Why can't I get my Axe + monitor to feed back normally like a guitar cab?

Do you have the global noise gate engaged? I had mine up and had the threshold pretty high, which of course affected my feedback. I've since turned it down on almost all of my patches since FW11 came out, and feedback comes pretty easily and sounds very musical. I play mostly higher gain...

I'm inclined to agree... I bought mine less than a year ago, but the news of the Axe II does NOT diminish the validity of the Axe I in any way, IMHO. The GenIs are amazing devices, and up until the announcement of the GenII, were generally regarded as the pinnacle of digital amp and effect...

The Ultras and Standards are great units as they stand, IMO. Sure, it would be nice to have continued support, especially for the cost of entry. But, also for the cost of entry, we all got an incredible effects unit that does some amazing amp simulations, even if it were never updated again...

Yep, that's straight from the horse's mouth hehe. So, there will most likely be a new product (floor model or "lite" version seems likely) PLUS a new firmware revision AND possibly Axe Edit coming out of a beta. This would definitely satisfy a large swathe of the groups involved and certainly...

Cliff didn't say who it wouldn't be a letdown to. Let's face it, no matter what the countdown leads to, it will probably be a letdown to somebody. If it's a firmware update and/or if AxeEdit come out of beta, then the people who are wanting to buy an Axe FX will be let down, since they are still...

Electro-Voice Live X 112P arrived today (unboxing inside!)

I rarely set the bass higher than 5 on my patches, so that's probably why I find the EVs not boomy at all.
