    Axe-Fest Live Report

Just a small note: It was really good getting to meet and chat with some of you guys (Mark, Craig, Scott, Mark Day, Cliff, Zentman!, etc). That alone was almost as much fun as the Axefest itself. I hope this is something that becomes a yearly event. If they pulled off something so fun and...

    Axe-Fest Live Report

Another shout out here for James Santiago. His playing and tone were world class. Very Eric Johnson-y, but he definitely had his own style going on. To those attending the west coast Axe-Fest 2012

Apparently there is going to be a guitarist at the FRFR station to provide playing. Willow, like you, I love 80's rock tones, so this is something I'm going to be paying special attention to. I'm sure myself and other attendees will post their opinions ;)

    Creating new AMP tones

I found myself doing this to a degree when I previously owned my Ultra and II. 3.02 Im over the HUmp and doin great!

I can see your points, LiS, but I think I'm of a mind where, if you're going to play with a piece of gear that is basically in constant active development, and you are going to voluntarily be part of that via firmware upgrades - then it's reasonable for you to expect to have to adapt and roll...

If you like that "in the room" character and attack of tube amps, I'd strongly recommend a tube power amp. Why can't I get my Axe + monitor to feed back normally like a guitar cab?

Do you have the global noise gate engaged? I had mine up and had the threshold pretty high, which of course affected my feedback. I've since turned it down on almost all of my patches since FW11 came out, and feedback comes pretty easily and sounds very musical. I play mostly higher gain...
