    That is a gorgeous board. I'm a sucker for tweed. I'm also a fan of the Freqout. I've tried some of the Freqout style presets that others have shared in the forum, but haven't had much luck. DigiTech really made something special. So for now it'll stick around.

    The feedback is good but you have to be careful you don’t hit another strings or notes but yeas like the Freqout it’s not a natural phenomenon, it’s basically putting the same note you are playing underneath and raising the mix when you select the switch

    ...There's a delay assigned to FC Pedal 3, which controls the mix for the delay at the end of the solo. You can delete the In/Out 3, I use that loop for a FreQout. I put the preset together using the isolated track from "No More Tears". It's a pretty damn unique tone.

    You are correct. This is the behavior of that pedal. I considered rewiring it so that it was always ON, but the switch isn't wired in a conventional on/off manner, and I couldn't identify a simple way to send the ON signal via an external momentary switch.

    You are correct. The pedal must be manually switched on each time the rack is powered up. I have it in one of the AxeFX external loops, so I just a control signal to turn off the input to that loop (that way I still get a natural tail on the output).

    Freqout can be always on or momentary via pedal switch - I put mine, always on, into an Ax3 loop and use expression pedal to inject a little freqout into the beginning of my signal chain to get sustaining feedback.

    True. If you've got a hand available for it, I'd rank the sound of an ebow right there with a sustainiac, between the Freqout and true acoustic coupled feedback. The feedback preset I posted above comes close to a Freqout, but I'm still keeping my Freqout :).

    It sounds and reacts better IMHO. However, it's not as good as a Freqout pedal, which isn't as good as a Sustainiac, which isn't as good as the real thing :).

    Both of those pedals are true bypass. So when both pedals are bypassed, there will be no buffer involved. Use a buffer only if you want/need one. With a buffer involved, the setting of of the FM9’s input impedance will be irrelevant.
