Let's see those FM9 rigs!

Hello guys,

Does anyone have suggestions for a pedalboard that can fit 2 evh expression pedals and maybe Andy woods compression pedal?

I have my fm9 and 2 evh's mounted to a temple board. I'm not liking it lol
Ok with the autocorrect issue cleared up, what are you not liking about your current setup?

Ugh autocorrect 🤦‍♂️, two ev2's
Your computer has fine autocorrect taste!

I mounted mine to a flat board. Specifically the 32x16 Aero board from Creation. It fits the FM9 and two EV-1’s. It’s tight though. Should be nice with the EV-2’s.

My initial plan was to put together the live rig over the next couple months, but that sped up pretty fast when I joined the Floyd tribute band this weekend. The only way I had to power a cab was slaving a Peavey XXL head into it, so I grabbed a Powerstage 170 (I'm diggin it!) and I'll just use this old Line 6 2x12 until I grab the two Mesa 2x12's. The cabs got WGS Retro 30's in it, which is like a V30 without the harshness. They can certainly cover some ground.

The EV-1 showed up today, I've got a ME EP-1 coming as well (that should have been here by now) and the only real decisions left to make are if I'm going wireless with this or not (most likely) and how I'm going to power both the 2x12's when I get them. I'll be able to put the 170 through it's paces this week, I'm pretty sure I'm either doing another one or the PS-700. I probably should have just ordered that to begin with.....damnit....I don't know why I didn't think of that until now.

I've barely gotten to play my Fractal stuff through a cabinet, only once in a band setting and it wasn't a good time (because the people, not the gear...the gear was the only good thing), so I'm anxious to really crank up and hear this stuff at live volume. I turned off the cab modeling globally so I could just go through presets to hear how they are through this cab and I really don't have any concerns. With a minor amount of tweaking my presets, I'll be good to go.

And here's some Fractal pedalboard porn for ya-

Can I ask how you are using the "external" switches on the left board? Do you have all 5 working?

Can i ask exactly how you mounted that? I bought an Anker one but it is JUUUUST too thick to fit reasonably under the board, like just over the 2inch clearance of the larger back edge of the temple board.

Do I remember you saying somewhere you had to sand down the borders on it? Or did you just screw it right into the back of the board?

Also I'm looking for something that could reasonably charge my Macbook Pro (or at least hold its charge, if charge slowly). Seems like this USB-C port is 20W which might not be enough. But I may be limited enough to give up that pipe dream.

Same one I always share, but on a cleaner stage:

I did cut and sand the flanges on that piece! I used heavy duty hook loop to secure it to the underside of the board between the cross support. I also spliced the power cord so it's all neat and tidy.

As to charging the Macbook I highly doubt it! I thought it would charge my iPad pro but no dice. I may do some surgery and put the power cube for it in their but to be honest I haven't really needed it as of yet so it hasn't been a priority. If your not using the other outlet you could mount another charger for a MacBook and call it done.

Yeah...probably where I will end up going. Start with just the 20W PD USB-C but if I decide I really need laptop charging I'll put another power brick in there.

I don't have the technical wherewithal to do any cutting or sanding so back to the drawing board. Or i'll try to find a thinner strip.

They’re all working indeed; top switch does Tuner/Tap, middle switch is Preset Up/Down and the single is a momentary switch that I use for whatever pedal I have in a loop in the AxeFX (usually a Freqout). Can’t remember at all how I configured them within the AxeFX but it was all info I learned here on the forum from digging around threads.

Does anyone know the usual voltage for those LED strip lights? My Temple board came with a set already taped under the board. They have a connector that matches this, which I bought from Amazon. But it doesn't power them up.

I've been using a PedalTrain Classic 2 with my FM9 for the past while, but I'm going minimalist and using just the FM9 + DVP4 to see how that goes.

The FM9 is pretty hefty on its own and using a board, power supplies, etc, starts to add size and weight pretty quickly. It's pretty sleek and perfect all on its own, though. Only thing I don't love is putting it right on the icky floors of some of the places we play, haha.

Are most folks that use a Temple board using 1/4" or TRS outputs on their FM9? I have XLR panels on the side of my board and I want to run patch cables from the FM9 to them. I'm having a hell of a time finding XLR jacks that fit correctly. I bought these, but I basically have to plug them into my FM9 horizontally. Then they block some of the other jacks.

I use SPDIF with mine, going from FM9 to FX3, so no issues with that.

Having said that, I do have some nice right-angle plugs on my MIDI cables, as well as on the XLR on my FC6:

Forget where I got it (probably Sweetwater), but it came with the plugs on both ends and snaked through the larger openings in the Temple board with a little coaxing....

Yeah I saw them. They want like $50 a piece for those. That's kinda ridiculous.

I used the Seismic XLR right angle female to straight male ones. I drilled two of the slightly bigger temple holes right behind XLR OUT1 and OUT2 into larger, 1.75" holes and put in some plastic desk grommets I found at the hardware store. The right angles downward perfectly go straight down into those larger holes. I'm not home so can't take a pic, but will show you what I mean when I get a chance. Looks pretty nice, especially with the grommet to smooth out the hole in the board.
