Check! My input 1 mode is "left only". Is it odd that I'm ok at 100%? That's why I originally posted, as I felt it was too high, but I'm not in the "red", so I just assumed it would be ok there, but I don't want to inadvertently be adding in unnecessary noise or anything by it being at 100%.

Confused on this signal routing in preset

Hey guys! So, I'm having a problem understanding something that is probably quite simple for most all of you. Signal chains. Sometimes I see guys with a single row of amps, effects, etc. and it's simple... a bunch of stuff and shunts and there's the sound. Other times I see a ton of parallel...

Original Mark IV Lead Channel Tone Matching ,tips and tricks are welcome!

Cliff was supposed to have filmed some new updated videos outlining the TM process, but haven't seen them posted up yet. I hope they post them soon as I'm also looking for some guidance in this area as well. Can't wait to hear what your results are. :)

LIGHT-WEIGHT FRFR Solutions

Hi Tones2. :) As an owner of a Xitone cab, I can say that Mick is fantastic to work with and produces an amazing product, but obviously you're looking for a few specific needs that may be hard to meet no matter who you end up going with. The Xitone cabs aren't the lightest cabs in the world...

Power Conditioner

The Carvin power conditioner sits at a great price point and has some nice features to it. I'm personally using a Furman that I've had for many years, but have been looking at the Carvin if I need another for a second rack setup. I've also used Juice Goose conditioners as well with no problems...

Momentary volume boost via my Midi controller

What is the benefit or difference of using a filter block vs a volume/pan block? Both have a mixer section with a level "knob" that can add dB. Also, what is the "boost" switch in the amp block for, as I can't seem to find a way to set specific dB for it? Shouldn't a boost give us an increase...

USB Direct vs Audio Interface

I have used both methods and to ease setup, I have just been going straight into Logic via the AFX and using it to output a stereo mix to my monitors. However, since I am going to be preparing my AFX for more live use and house it in a separate rack, I may be going back to a desktop interface...

There's alot of options for you when it comes to connecting your instrument to your iPhone/iPad, etc. I would take a look on Sweetwater.com, as they have a nice section geared towards i-specific anything.

MFC-101 Pedalboard Recommendations.

Looks like the board is custom made, possibly by the customer. I make pedalboards and that one looks similar to mine (base, alum. edging, metal "U" handles, etc.). Nice layout though.

What could be causing my A string to clip?

I don't see how it could be the room. The cab is the last in the chain of everything and frankly, even if the room did have a frequency to it... how would that cause my AFX to clip internally? Hi Joe. Just to clarify... I am playing through a FRFR cab. That is my Xitone cab in the video...

Ok guys... so I decided to add a video to my post so that it may help in diagnosing the issue at hand. Still getting alot of clipping while chugging on the A string, but it doesn't seem to happen with any other string. I added a compressor and messed with the levels a bit, but still clipping...

I agree with the last few posts here... I personally have tried many different digital technologies over the years... The first real piece of modeling gear I ever had in my rack as a late teenager was a Digitech 2112. Still had those 12AX7 tubes, but the distortion channels were pretty blah...

Stop bustin my chops! Haha just kiddin. What you say makes sense. I'm by no means an expert on any of this stuff, but what I should have said is that when I click the switch, the programmed changes are made and I've never noticed any lag with my prior controllers going back 15 years or more...
