Hey all! Just wanted to ask a quick question that may be basic for many of you.... I'm trying to figure out where the "chirping" highs are coming from when I'm playing my AFX. I'm running the PVH 6160 Block amp into a cab block containing the Cali speakers (UR) and a 57 mic. I find this with other combinations of amps/cabs as well. Anyways... while playing, I find that there is always an underlying high-end "chirpiness" to my tone. When I try to get the guitar to feedback, it'll perform similar to a regular amp/cab for a moment and then that "chirpiness" slowly grows and the feedback disappears and turns into an ear-piercing, high-end squealing that won't go away until I turn the volume down on the guitar. I'm not sure if this is an EQ frequency thing or what, but when I crank up my traditional amp/cab, I don't get any of this "chirpiness" going on. The volume on my Matrix amp is set to 12, my AFX is set to 12, and it's a nice volume. My amp volume level is set to -10db. Overall, the tone of that amp block sounds nice and full. I'm still experimenting with tweaking the tone, but no matter what, that little chirping bird tone is always underlying waiting to come out it seems.
I hope that I worded all that correctly and you guys get what I'm trying to say. Thanks for any help you can offer.
