Hi, I'm building a small home studio and I would like to make a 1u rack mounted hard disk storage/back up solution with a space for a DVD/CD drive. How easy or difficult is it to make such a thing? Is it possible? Thoughts? Thanks.

Someone using a Neve 1073n etc...

I've just seen a YouTube video of a Japanese guy using his Axe Fx II and he was using a Neve 1073n, Prism Lyra and UAD2 satellite. He was getting some rather nice tones. Any idea why this set up / benefits or otherwise and signal routing?

Latency issue?

I'm running SPDIF and just checked sample rate is still at 48. As far as I know I've not changed any of my settings from yesterday - I'm confused that something has changed.

I've just watched a YouTube video of Nick Raskulinecz raving about the Axe Fx and he says he likes to use it running into a couple of Neve mic pres and then straight to tape. Can anyone explain how you do this and why he woud go through some outboard preamps? Thanks.

The AxeFx II is the biggest improvement in the studio I've experienced...

It is a dream for late night playing - hence my post on Christmas Day night @ 22.30 and I'm jamming with a cranked Marshall 800 :-)

Just a very quick post - the Q12a kicks some punch in a live situation.... it has no problems what soever cutting it. Its still very early days for me with the Q12a but I'm a 100% convinced that the Q12a is a keeper and now planning for a Q12 to form a basic backline to give me even more...

I totally agree with this statement... I'm 48 (argh) and I have spent the last few months doing what I call speed drills/exercises for hour after hour and the speed is there, getting faster and more accurate.

Thanks for all the replies - I've decided that I'm going to use my studio monitors at low volumes for late night practice. The fact that there is "air" between a monitor and my ears does seem to help and means I'm not getting issues with my tinnitus. Headphones on the other hand and buds...
