Someone using a Neve 1073n etc...

I've just seen a YouTube video of a Japanese guy using his Axe Fx II and he was using a Neve 1073n, Prism Lyra and UAD2 satellite. He was getting some rather nice tones.

Any idea why this set up / benefits or otherwise and signal routing?

I'm trying to get cool guitar tones using the AX8 and the Apollo Twin UAD-2 simulations of a Neve 1073 and the Helios 69. I'm still experimenting but so far the Neve gives some nice character to the AX8 signal, the EQ on that thing is brilliant, and the Preamp part gives some fatness to the tone.
I'll post some samples when I get something decent recording!

It's the EQ. The preamp is nice, but the eq is magic.
