I think that's kind of what I did. I run mostly boosted lows from the output EQ and then little-to-no depth on the power amp. I guess the only thing I can do is experiment more with it.

Weird sort of ladder kick from Johnson. Big fan of his and I do agree with him but it's funny how he set a new standard for wet guitar tones and now he's saying we should just plug straight into the amp lol.

The TriAxis Yellow is pretty hard to beat for me. Not as straight forward as other amp models to tweak but once you figure out how it ticks it's monstrous.

Getting back into playing. Have you ever lost your guitar-stamina?

Could be bad genetics or could be unhealthy methods of practice. I've spent many hours slowing down solos in GuitarPro 5.2 (the golden years of GP 😭) and never had an issue like that, so it probably depends on the manner in which you were practicing that solo.

Yes, but for me I get my mojo back after a couple of days. If it's an energy thing, I find that the older I get (I'm almost 34), the more I need to be a nerd about keeping up my energy levels and hydrating. Drink water and watch what you eat - that stuff didn't seem to matter when I was 16 but...

Some of those may have been listed recently because a lot of the ones I saw on Reverb shortly before I bought mine were going for the RRP - maybe I'm wrong. If I had seen that Caramel Burst Floyd I would have bought it for sure, but such is life. I definitely paid a lot for S&H and import GST.

Bumping this because of how faithful to the original it is. For a guitar player who stepped into the role of lead singer however temporarily, Luke is super underrated. Love all the Toto cuts he's sung on, and your singer did a fantastic job. Love the guitar harmonies at the end - very tasteful.

I can't stop using the Clip-Lock straps DiMarzio do, but I imagine there are some more traditional styles of strap that are more comfortable. DiMarzio do offer a few leather options for the Clip-Lock straps now. Edit: Apparently not lol

Not right now. I'm waiting on some high quality patch cables to replace all the long ones in my rack right now. I'll set the cab and my main preset up for stereo when I do that. Ideally I need another Boogie 4x12 for it to truly sound giant.

I have a feeling the MESA 2x12 vertical slant cab I'm looking at is 8 Ohms only, whereas the 4x12 I have is 8 Ohms mono and 4 Ohms per stereo input. I'd have to run the Fryette 4O on channel 1 and 8O on channel 2 - it would work but I'd obviously have to adjust to taste.

What I should have said in the original post is that I intend to eventually run two of the same cabinet, whether it's two Friedman 412's or whatever MESA / Boogie is sending to NZ just before Christmas. The stereo jack isn't a bad idea though.

I tried a 1x12 mini recto cab and it just didn't have the balls that I'm used to. I owned a Rivera Knucklehead 4x12 for years and that thing sounded huge.
