Eric Johnson says the ever-expanding world of guitar gear has resulted in “so much option anxiety”

Adjusting/balancing highs/lows in the Fractal with the highs/lows from power amp presence and depth controls

I think that's kind of what I did. I run mostly boosted lows from the output EQ and then little-to-no depth on the power amp. I guess the only thing I can do is experiment more with it.

Eric Johnson says the ever-expanding world of guitar gear has resulted in “so much option anxiety”

Weird sort of ladder kick from Johnson. Big fan of his and I do agree with him but it's funny how he set a new standard for wet guitar tones and now he's saying we should just plug straight into the amp lol.

Adjusting/balancing highs/lows in the Fractal with the highs/lows from power amp presence and depth controls

Quite the mouthful of a thread title, I know. One source of option paralysis for me is in trying to reconcile the high/low parameters in the amp block of the Axe-Fx III with the presence/depth controls on my power amp. I tend to use the Mark-style output EQ in the amp block for everything, and...

I broke it in a bit more last night and I was in the zone (as corny as that sounds) playing Neal Schon licks so safe to say it's grown on me. I gave it a dash of lemon oil on first string change but I'll give it another drink in a week or so.

Getting back into playing. Have you ever lost your guitar-stamina?

Could be bad genetics or could be unhealthy methods of practice. I've spent many hours slowing down solos in GuitarPro 5.2 (the golden years of GP 😭) and never had an issue like that, so it probably depends on the manner in which you were practicing that solo.

Getting back into playing. Have you ever lost your guitar-stamina?

Yes, but for me I get my mojo back after a couple of days. If it's an energy thing, I find that the older I get (I'm almost 34), the more I need to be a nerd about keeping up my energy levels and hydrating.
