Axe-Fest II

I've got an SM57 and also a Unidyne III (yeah showing my age), pre-cursor to the 57. I can bring them if needed.

To all forum members who will be attending Axe Fest 2 on Sunday.

Do any of you have a Drum Kit mic set you would be willing to bring and let us use from 2:00pmto 6:00pm on Sunday? We have some stellar players performing this year with basically a full band in that timeframe. Drums, Bass, Keys, Sax, Mandolin etc! It is going to be sweeeeeeeet!

I am sure we all have access to SM57's etc and I have no doubt I could come up with those for overheads. I don't gig so I have to plead ignorance here with respect to micing drum kits. At a minimum I would think we would have a couple 57's for overhead and a dedicated ? for the kick.

I have seen those kits that have all the mics with clip on attachments so you don't need mic stands and was thinking that would be cool if anyone has something along those lines and would be willing to contribute.

I am all ears! Let me know what you think or can come up with!

Thanks!

Generally you want to use condensers for overheads. SM57 are not known for there hi freq response.
If someone local doesn't come up with some good mics PM me, I can bring a couple of condenser mics and a AKG D112 for kick. Can't bring the stands though :)
I have a mounting kit as well for toms, snare.
I also have tons of sm57s, a Senn MD421 I could bring.

No worries! Our friends at Matrix just chimed in and they are bringing a 7 piece kit.

I may be calling on a few of you locals for some stands and possibly cables though. :)

Thanks for he replies!

i have a full 9 pc drum mic set...with clips and everything

for overheads i have a matched pair of rode nt5

If nothing better comes along, I've got one of these: TD-4K :: Products :: Roland

Not every drummer likes electronic drums, but it's fairly compact, multiple kits sounds and no mics are needed.

Oh yeah - Roland makes some great acoustic-modeled products with its V-Drum series. I have my eye on their flagship model Flagship Models :: Lineup :: Roland V-Drums Global Official Site for down the road, after I get an MFC and some wedges. Then maybe a set of Yamaha YV-3910M vibes! Always dreamed of playing the vibes. Have fun at Axe Fest II ! :)

It's cool that both Tosin and Javier will be playing this time. Last time was awesome but with this, it will be 110% realer!
