Reducing hum using 4CM?

I have been using the 4CM for well over a year and love it. Make sure you have all your levels and, most importantly, pad settings maximized (or minimized) for your setup. Making most of the dynamic range of the converters!

Got my BeyerDynamic DT 880 Pro, 250 ohm, but hardly any volume

Yeah, I was afraid of that, but I need those pad settings to keep the noise down when using the 4CM, setting the SNR to an optimum as the manual suggests. Also, I need to switch the cabs in and out and switch back to stereo. That means using a headphone while using the 4CM is a real pain...

I have had my Axe-Fx2 and MFC-101 a while now and all was fine until I changed my UTP cable from the Axe-Fx 2 to the MFC. Now the MFC is no longer working and changing back to the old cable doesn't help! I have a gig tomorrow! Can you tell me how to fix this? Sincerely, -Joost Assink

LOL!!! Yeah, now why did I not think of that.... :D I agree, there are probably several delays going, all with just one or two repeats. I added the preset I think is close, with the right tempo and just one repeat, but that's not all that's going on I think.

Weird: into tube poweramp without poweramp sim is too dark, with sim too bright

That's exactly what it comes down to: convenience and consistency versus tone compromise. I felt the difference in tone between the two setups was too significant for my personal taste.

Yeah those transformers in the picture are plenty huge! But I thought the fryette 2902 was just 2u high. I think the 27 lbs of my Engl is plenty heavy!

I might try em but I didn't like them when I tried them with my regular tube amps. So I'd have to go back to using IRs. I didn't try the atomics because two atomics were more expensive than this setup and I've heard the tweeters distort on stage volumes. Plus then I'd be back using tweeters...

I figured it out! With the firmware update my patches were gone... But my custom cab IRs were gone as well so after replacing my patches, all the patches with custom IRs sounded weird... because they were damaged. And that's why all other patches worked fine!

Yes that might tame the low end a bit but if you want all the R121 magic you might also use amp parameters to tame the bass. Try LF cut up to at least 100 hz.

which is the 4x12 Recto? The U87 is really no replacement of the U67. Maybe try the AKG C414B-ULS That's exactly what I like about this recipe!! It's very rich and detailed! On a low-output strat with some real subtle right-hand playing you hear the most incredible richness and detail.

Help my factory fresh Ultra has quote a lot of fan noise!

I just got my brand new Axe-Fx ultra today and it's great! But it has quite a bit of fan noise that is annoying in my home studio. I was under the impression that the new Axe-fx units come with a the new 'silent' fan. Is that true? Do I have to live with it? Or is there an alternative? Thanks!

I want to simplify my rig so I got my axe-fx ultra and ordered two FBT Verve 12ma's. I want to use it for gigs, band practice and bedroom playing. I figure the power amps in the Verve wont need saturation to sound good like a tube power amp will. Will that work?

What is the fastest way to audition RedWirez IRs?

Very cool! Can anyone record a clip of their guitar in axe fx, using a Fender Vibroverb or Dumble clean but without any cab sim? I'm still waiting for my Ultra for another week, so I can audition the cabs with the VST plugin by looping your recording and switching cabs, while I'm still waiting...

Red Wirez "Tone Recipe Formula" Sharing Thread

Just wanted to bring this one back. Just bought the RedWirez BigBox series and am looking for some great recipes to mix in their MixIR I am looking to get close to my Scumback M75/H75 cab. Best sounding cab I own. But all other suggestions and recipes are welcome!

I have tried the search but no cigar. I have ordered the Mission SP1 for the axe-fx Mfc-101 combo and mostly want to use it as an expression pedal, where I will use the toe switch to switch from expression to wah, but can I set it up to do volume swells on certain patches as well? thanks so...

Alternative FRFR systems: Dynacord AM-12 or Tannoy Power V12

Hi, I keep reading the same names over and over again for FRFR systems for Axe-Fx, FBT Verve 12Ma or QSC K12. So I was wondering if other name brands are viable options, like the Dynacord AM-12 or the Tannoy Power V12? Can anyone comment on these systems or other impressive alternatives? thanks
