Ultra and MFC help please.

You will need to update your Firmware in the MFC to Version 1.0 or greater to be able to access all the 3 banks from the MFC. With the older versions, you can set and access only one bank at a time. Firmware can be updated with a midi program such as MIDIOX and a midi interface. I use a...

Tonemaster, My best guess is that you are using V1.0 on the MFC, as the symptoms are the same as quite a few of us found when using Ext2 as a WAH pedal. Update the MFC and you will be fine. Mic

Hey Tonemaster, Are you using two expression pedals respectively in external 1 and 2, and running MFC Version 1.0. There is a known bug, which was fixed in V1.02. My volume pedal stopped working alltogether ( External 1 ), and it caused Ext 2 to take over 1 and 2....but not operate...

Error 18 when I connect Midi cable to update MFC firmware

John, Do you have a midi interface, such as a midisport 2x2? If so, you can update PC -> midi interface -> MFC.... I don't have the AxeII, as i am in Australia, so I haven't tried using the AxeII as a midi interface, but it definitely works using the traditional method Mic

Mic up or AXE FX to FOH

Hey Racetra, Not sure if it all about the guitar player or all about the PA Operator.....it is amazing how different it can all sound depending on who is at the desk, and the techniques applied. We have had quite a few different PA Operators from the kid who looks like he has just come in...

Mic up or AXE FX to FOH

Hi Pete, I connect mine straight to the PA via Output 1, and to a personal stage monitor ( if I need to ) via Output 2. This gives you total control and you can change your stage volume without affecting FOH, and the other stage monitor feeds. Most PA guys will be totally happy with this...

Obviously, by the way you are posting, you got the right leads and the SLA2 is working OK..... That's good to hear. From my understanding this should be the same, as the AXE is mimicing the Amp circuit that you are trying to use. Mic

Axe FX Ultra won't turn on

Chris, I presume that you have checked the basics, like trying another power point that you know is working - checking that the power lead is plugged in at the back of the AXE FX properly, and is not loose. Sometimes we overlook the simple things in a panic. Mic

Odd "Clicking" problem

DO you use a MIDI footswitch - like the MFC-101? I re-read your post and you are using the MidIMoose - try disconnecting the footswitch and you will find that the "pop" will probably go away. Give that a try and then we can move to the next steps Mic

Metalslab, It looks like it is the same issue to me - you are using XP2 and it seems to be an issue where when you send lots of data, such as using the WAH or WHAMMY pedal continuously, it sends some spurious data in there somewhere which is giving the controller the wrong information...

Dan and Mike, A couple of nights ago I tried playing with only XP2 connected, and with no volume pedal in XP1 and no other external control, I still had the Ultra go into Bypass, but only a couple of times over two hours give or take....I am also convinced that it XP2 related and plan to sit...

I only have two SP-1 pedals, one for Volume in XP1, and the other in XP2 ( which seems to be causing the problems ). Chain is as follows: ULTRA - MFC-101, Pedals connected to MFC. I will try again with just XP2 and see what it does - might be a couple of days though....

For me, this problem has not been something that happens continuously or every time you sweep the pedal - sometimes it happens after 30 minutes of use. It will be fine - everything works correctly and then all of a sudden ..... fault occurs ...... The only consistent thing that I have...

I am using Mission Engineering SP1 pedals >s0c9 >which expression pedal are you guys using..??? >I can try to test this out with my Ultra (tonight) if I get a chance... tho' I use 2 pedals, XP1 as >volume and XP2 for Wah (switched) but I am not seeing this behavior on my Ultra.

Three is one co-incidence too many and I also agree that poor cables is a long shot ( I want/need a 7pin midi cable anyway). I also tried switching cables and expression pedals to no avail. I didn't get any errors when I performed the upgrade, so I think that this is pointing to an error...

Hi Danny, I have the same thing happening with me as well. The XP2 set for use as a WAH Pedal, and this has in no particular order, put my ULTRA into BYPASS, turns on the edit led, changes volume level out ( probably bypasing AMPs just like yours but I didn't get a chance to look at it )...

They might not have stock yet, but at least they now have the option to purchase an AXE FX II on their website......it will be interesting to see how long it is till we get them here, as there was no fanfare or countdown from IM

Tuner not silent??

If you use the MFC-101 with an expression pedal for volume - you can heel down the expression pedal for no volume and still use the tuner with no-one else hearing what you are doing, or you can then choose to leave the expression pedal up for everyone to hear.....best of both worlds that...

Anyone Know Exactly what is going on with MFC in Australia?

Mine has finally arrived today......woohoo...!! Thanks IM - they also threw in a SP-1 which I haven't paid for yet. Can't knock that service. It is slightly bigger and heavier than expected. Now to work out if I can fit in the 4U rack, with some custom foam inserts
