Yes. Great tone starts at the source. Still on topic. Continue learning. So the moral of this story is can't get a decent high gain tone because the DI is crappy? Are we still on topic? Sorry just trying to learn more
Ok so we're still unsure as to WHY the source was bad? Unless I missed something?Yes. Great tone starts at the source. Still on topic. Continue learning.
Hi, thx for your comment. I didn't have much time these days but I managed to change the battery of the emg and bought a new jack (lava cable, guitar -> axe fx).Yes. Great tone starts at the source. Still on topic. Continue learning.
Yep it's still there, even when lowering the pickup... But since it's "normal" with emg active pups .I think I still hear that clipping thing going on
Yeah. I have no clue. Maybe it'll eventually get found out. But, in my opinion, something is wrong with the signal before it hits the Axe-fx.Ok so we're still unsure as to WHY the source was bad? Unless I missed something?
Explain this to me. I think there may be something you're doing wrong. Are you changing the output source to USB in I/O? Or doing something different? I've never heard of the "bypass mod".They're both recorded with the axe fx as audio Interface (USB, bypass mod)
Ahh ha!!!They're both recorded with the axe fx as audio Interface (USB, bypass mod).
It's what I did, I've used the bypass button on the front panel of the axe and recorded the input 1 in reaper.Input 3/4 has the dry signal if I remember correctly. I don't have the II anymore. I believe you can shunt your way to a DI signal as well. So input 1 and shunt all the way to output 1.

Quick question. In your DAW, where is the input fader signal hitting at when you're recording the DI? It shouldn't be too hot. What's the number (like -10 or so)?Yep it's still there, even when lowering the pickup... But since it's "normal" with emg active pups .
yep, like -10 for the Ibanez and -13 for the ESP.Quick question. In your DAW, where is the input fader signal hitting at when you're recording the DI? It shouldn't be too hot. What's the number (like -10 or so)?
So, here's the DI clips of my Ibanez (with a new battery) and my ESP Horizon. They're both recorded with the axe fx as audio Interface (USB, bypass mod). The ESP is a 6 str guitar in dropped B, so I had to adapt the riff.
