DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Thanks everyone and happy Canadian Thanksgiving! Some of the synth stuff is guitar and some of it is from VST instruments. In this particular song actually quite a lot of it is guitar with various processing from the Axe-FX and some other plugins.

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Eh guys, I gave you the lyrics and a synopsis of what the song is about, that's really about all there is to it! Cheers for listening.
  3. E

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

There are a number of news quotes in the intro not just the 911 one if you listen...but that's the fun of lyrics, they are open to interpretation and influenced by the mind of the listener.

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Cheers dude, it's Sacha. Yeah I was using Diezel a ways back, then ENGL, now 5150III + Mills cabinets. Of course the Axe-FX has been a constant ever since I got it! ;)
  5. E

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Cheers for the interest! The song is basically about taking responsibilities for our actions. Both on a personal level and as a civilization. It also relates a bit about how a small group of 'elite' people often control how history plays out for the rest of us with almost arbitrary decisions at...

You made this in the first place Facing today with untold conviction Through the motions, through the pauses The bed goes unmade I now know the way The precedent, obey Dark thoughts flow inside my head Shrouding the sunlight within Lay in the bed you've made My mind is cast into shadow Face...

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Cheers guyz, the Axe-FX is used for all the leads / cleans / fx. The rhythm tracks are 5150III reamped by Mark at Audiohammer. Oh and the floorboard is an Axess FX-1, although i'd like to check out the Fractal piece sometime!
  8. E

DIVINITY new video in GUITAR WORLD

Thanks for, checking it out dudez! I appreciate not everyone can get into the heavier vocals, but can still respect the music, that's cool. Glad you dig the solo tone too, that is all Axe direct!

Saw Steve Vai Saturday and asked him about the axe...

I went to this in Calgary, totally awesome, Vai played insanely fucko good (obviously) and had lots of great advice as well. I jammed with him at the end, the most fun i've had whilst shitting myself!

Preferred amp sims for 7 string guitar?

Recto New here mainly, boosted with tubescreamer, using the red wirez Bogner V30 cab at the moment, Catharsis IRs also. Tasty goodness. Also had good results with the 5150, I like the Uber as a layer but prefer other amps by themselves.
  12. E

    Saw Dream Theatre last night....

I saw them in Calgary, fucking RULED. I love the shorter setlist in a way because they just played the songs, no wankfests and not much banter etc. The sound / playing / songs where just awesome, proved why they are one of the greats.
  13. E

How to get that bite in your tone..

Pickups make a huge difference IMO...but if you want bite use a bitier amp model like the Recto New is one of my faves. Pick hard too :P
  14. E

To pull the trigger or not? Should I sell my tube gear?

I luuuurv the Axe but still keep some amps and other gear around. Why does it have to be all or nothing? If you need more money, save a bit longer, sell some more useless shit like furniture or something :P
  15. E

Clark Kent: You can use PEQ to compensate...

:? :? :? :? Sorry man, some good ideas in your post too but those statements threw me for a loop. Good conversation starter for sure! I do agree to get the best tone you can with the basic controls before going to anything else. My patches are all quite simple in the basic tone...

Right on Blackouts look good too, never tried them but heard them sounding good in other people's rigs.
  18. E

New Guitar New Riff New Clip

What are these dynamics you speak of? :P Nah my style is not really going for dynamics in this case  I didn't add any compression, it's a very high gain saturated tone so it's already compressed enough as it is.

New Guitar New Riff New Clip

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2183128/ENDITOL ... June13.mp3 Picked this beast up the other day and did a quick clip with a new riff idea. Guitar plays / sounds great, really punchy as fuck sounding. Got an 81-7 coming to try out as opposed to the stock 707, see which one I prefer.

    ENDITOL Album

Thanks Eric. I used Trilian to program the bass, awesome instrument. They have fingered, picked, synth, Chapman stick all kinds of good shit. I used Superior drummer for the drums, primarily the Metal Foundry expansion, also layered with some other samples on the kick and snare.

  30. E

    Tried my Axe 'live'

Boosted Recto with some tweaks...the ENGL is the best amp i've ever owned, that's over Bogner, Diezel etc.
  31. E

Boosted 5105 does modern death metal (RedWire content)

Kill-fucking-er! Could use a bit more upper mid bite for my taste, but DM tends to be scooped so im sure that was your intent.
  32. E

    Tried my Axe 'live'

At practice anyway...into the poweramp of my ENGL. The band couldn't tell which was which between the Axe and the ENGL preamp. It sounded / felt juicy and delicious after about 10 minutes of light tweaking. Cooltits!

    Aggressive tones...watcha got

This isn't mastered yet really, just a bus comp and a bit of limiting. I will be mastering it though. The sub drop isn't side chained or anything, I just find the right level where it sounds big but doesn't pump the bus comp too much.
  41. E

    Aggressive tones...watcha got

    Getting Extremely Tight Metal Tones

Andy Sneap posted a similar tip on his forum, this is from the recording side but could be applied within the Axe, which is a narrow multiband compressor in the 'mud' zone, same idea that when palm mutes go 'whoomp' the MB kicks in and brings down the lows a bit.

  48. E

    DIVINITY - The Singularity

I had uploaded it to the old Axechange, do you still have it? It's the Mark IV model, it is boosted and there is also a compressor and EQ in the chain. I did a fair amount of post processing to it since I had it dialed a bit too smooth, I EQd to make it cut a bit more and did a bit of multiband...

Killer thanks Jeff! For leads I used the USA Lead and the German 4x12 cab. Cleans where the USA Clean. I posted the presets that are similar to what I used on Axe-exchange a while back, are those still around? Yeah the cymbals and room sounds are all Superior 2.0.

New pickups, New drumsounds, New clip

http://www.enditol.net/mp3/TMF_Test.mp3 Splooged this together in about an hour, first couple of days of playing with The Metal Foundry from Toontrack. Dirk Verbueren MIDI file and some sloppy generic riffage I came up with on the spot. I blended in a Slate snare since I haven't dialed the TMF...
  64. E

    New guitar and clip

We'll see, I'll have both options and see which I prefer. The Axe is definitely staying for cleans / leads and FX.

    New Metal clip - Divinity

Thanks dudez, the mix is just rough at this point, but I think it's coming together pretty decent at least so far. The album will hopefully be out later this year, shooting for fall. You can go buy our 1st CD for now to tide you over.
  74. E

    New Metal clip - Divinity

Thanks a lot for the comments bro'z! To answer the questions: Guitar is Blackmachine B7 with Bare Knuckle Nailbomb pickups, the recording was done direct in, and I will upload the patch at some point no problem.

Thanks for the feedback. There will be the 1st 'official' ENDITOL release coming relatively soon, the vocals are just being tracked right now then the final mix and master can be completed. As for Divinity we have just started recording drums so that release will be coming later in the year...
  80. E

New test clip - DAS METULZ

Hey Steve, Thanks! Yeah the EQs where bypassed in the recording too, I was experimenting with them but decided to do any EQing after the fact to give me some more flexiblity. I didn't end up doing a whole lot of post EQing in the end anyway. Later, - Sacha

Axe-FX good for [Industrial] Metal, even compared to VHT?

The Axe-FX is as good as any preamp out there for Metal tonez IMO, depending of course on the taste and skill of the user. It's a different style but I posted my latest Metal clip here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_so ... ID=7137192

Fat heavy reamped riff 7-string metal kill death (meta tags)

Killer! Tone reminds me of Chaosphere. No telling that isn't a mic'd up amp. Nice mix too. Metal has arrived at the Fractal house!
  98. E

    Death Metal???

Wow! The tones work perfect for that style, great job! I prefer the VH4 one, a little more body and less trebly. Those Siggi guitars are beautiful too, any pics?
