FracPad had forgotten my cab names so I checked all the update on startup options (cab names. preset names and performance parameters) and restarted. It ran the updates and I switched presets and it got the block parameters but the grid did not update, it stayed on the previous preset with some anomalies. I then unchecked all of the startup options and restarted again. Now it's changing with the presets.

I had some difficulty editing a preset where I wanted to move a couple of blocks, they didn't want to drop into the space I wanted them, had to drop them close and then move.

I found the realistic UI for several newer drives were not working. F.i. the Klon, the Nobelium, Box of Crunch had a black screen. I never used the Realistic so I don't know if that was the case before. As I said, I don't use it and will not because the advanced parameters are absent anyway, so no hurry for me.

Yes the real ui is not updated, i can't keep up with all the updates...
Can you give me an exact step by step reproduction of your problems? It's not clear what the problem is
 
No problems after turning the update options off again.

I just ran the options for update cabs and preset names and performance parameters once to have them in sync again. Because the cab names had disappeared. Come to think of it, I have uninstalled fracpad and reinstalled it a couple of months ago, so that's probably when they disappeared.

When those options were set to "on", the blocks grid did not update when I changed to another preset. I think it's the performance parameters option. I seem to remember it giving me trouble before. But I don't need it so I keep it off.

So, nothing new and no problems in need of instant fixing here.

Ok the polling options at startup are useless most of the time... You can use the refresh button in the preset/cab selectors

Question... I just downloaded and installed FPiii on a MacBook pro running the latest OS update. It repeatedly crashes upon startup of the app. However, if I go View Package contents and navigate to the MacOS subfolder, where the resident application lives, I can double-click that and it will pop open a terminal window, then opens and operates just fine. At this point, I have connected to an FM9 directly via USB. Even after this it will still not open from the desktop/Applications icon.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software, same thing happens.

Thoughts or advice?

Hi guys. im about to buy and FM3. can you use Yamaha MD-BT01 for bluetooth connection with this model? or only works with FM9? and if it works, it is slow or? what is the best way to connect FM3 to Ipad ?

It should work. The FM3 has MIDI In and MIDI Out.

Yes it works if the MD-BT01 has a recent firmware.
It's not slow unless you transfer presets, which may fail...
The fm3 can only be connected via midi in/out ports the the iPad as it's not midi class compliant, contrary to the fm9 and axefx3.

My MD-BT01 works fine with my FM3. But mine seems to be special. Several people have problems with the MD-BT01 overheating while mine oddly stays cool as a cucumber. It's to do with the FM3 putting 5V on the MIDI plug power pins where 3.x is the norm these days. There's a DIY workaround with plugs with a 1M resistors.
 
Maybe I completely missed this? This can now be used via USB on Android? Originally, I was using Bluetooth. But I had to stop since I started using a Midi Baby 3 for extra buttons.

I got this midi merger to use a midi pedal (Hotone) with the MD-BT01. Works great for me.

Input into MD-BT01 from the FM3 includes power, output of the MD and the pedal into the merger back into the fm3.
Of course the Hotone and the merger need power.

BTW some foot controllers do merge the in-stream.

Can you share a picture of how the hookup is? The explanation is a bit confusing.

if you use expresion pedal + Ampero switch.for 2 extras switches, you have no room for the MD-BT01?

This is my setup ^^^
Although I now have the Hotone Soul Press II instead of the Sonicake.
If you look at the middle pic the midi merger is on the right, the MD-BT01 is stuck next to it behind a hole in the plate so it doesn't get shielded.

The FM3 midi out goes via a 50cm extension cable (female plug on one side) to the MD-BT01 input. From the MD-BT01 output another extension cable goes into the midi-merger input #1. Then a normal short midi cable (male both sides) from the merger output back to the FM3 midi input.
Of course there's also a short midi cable coming from the Hotone Ampero footswitch (switches scenes) into the merger input #2.

Signals merge perfectly, both FracPad and the foot controller can send midi into the FM3 just fine. Only FracPad needs a return signal, the foot controller has no such functions. I can see the scene on the FM3 screen so I don't need any visual feedback on the Hotone.

The FM3 buttons are used mostly for block standby's.

Hello AlGrenadine,
currently the "rotate Screen" function on a Android device is not working due to a Bug in the Library of FracPad.
What´s your timeschedule to fix this ?
