Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Third party software for Fractal Audio products.
Hi everyone, just a question: if I have an usb cable with fractal usb connector and usb c do i need an adaptor to connect my FM9 to my iPad Pro? I don’t understand why I need an adaptor.
I tried and Lite version works without adaptor!
So if it works you don't need one.
One is needed for non-usb ipads, which used to be the apple norm...

Just found out that the " M-VAVE MS1 Mini Wireless Transmission System " system works perfectly fine. It's 10€ compared to the yamaha 60€

beside that, is it somehow possible to change the resolution of the fracpad PC application? It's sooooo incredibly tiny on my 4k screen, basically unusable.

Yes, in the options menu, you can change the blocks size, the fons size etc...

Hi AlGrenadine -- first, thanks for your great work on the software and also your engagement with this forum.

Fractal Audio just released new firmware versions (e.g. V10 for FM3).
Question 1: When do you expect your software will support the new firmware?
I have FM3 and I want to use FracPad on my iPad Pro, through Roland UM-ONE mk2.
Question 2: What do you mean specifically by "Apple USB camera adapter"? Why can't I use a simple USB-A to USB-C adapter?

Hi
Soon :)
As soon as I will find some time ;)
That's an apple thing, depends on the iThing you're using... Some have usb some have lightning thing or another apple specific port... So you have to find a way to connect an usb on it. The apple usb camera adapter was the way to do this few years ago, i don't follow the apple news so maybe they finally use what the whole world uses...

Great answer.

For your information, all the new iPads and iPhones use USB ports, not Lightning ports. I believe the "camera adapter" you mention is the Lightning-to-USB-C/HDMI/USB multi-media cable. (there is also a USB-C version). I am going to try to use a conventional USB-USB-C adapter and will report my results.

It should work, but only on fm9 and axefx3. Fm3 is not midi-class compliant which means it won't be recognized by the host, so you have to use a Roland um-one usb to midi adapter or a yamaha md-bt01 midi ble adapter

Right... I always forget about that with FM3.

I've only used it with Axe Fx III and FM9.

Hey, nice work with the app, I'm really interested in using it, but I'm having issues getting it to connect with fracpad lite over the usb connection with android, on a Samsung s24.

I have my axe fx 3 usb input hard wired to a rack panel, using a "QIANRENON USB B to USB A Panel Mount Feedthrough Adapter USB B Female to USB 2.0 Female Printer Data Connector" (from amazon), and a "kenable USB 2.0 24AWG High Speed Cable Printer Lead A to B" (also from amazon) within the rack. To my phone, I am plugging in to the rack panel using the usb A to B cable that comes with the axe fx 3, using the g66 USB A to USB C adaptor on the phone side.

Is there any reason why this configuration wouldn't work? When it's plugged in I can see the axe fx 3 in the drop down list of midi in / out devices on the splash screen, and there is also a small usb icon in the top right which is displayed, but I can't get any further than that. When the usb isn't connected to the phone, neither of these things show up. Thanks.

You need an OTG adapter to use FracPad with an Android device.

Did you ser your usb to otg mode in your tablet settings?

It's a phone rather than a tablet, Samsung S24, but when I looked I couldn't find any settings in there to enable such a thing. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have another look and try Google to see if that can be enabled.

Can I check, presumably the fact that the axe fx shows up in the midi drop down menus in fracpad and the usb icon shows up in the top right when it's plugged in means it can at least partly detect the device is connected?
