Those earlier days are amazing to watch. Nothing remotely like it today. There had to've been injuries lol! Add in Roger throwing his mic up and pulling it back by the cable n their stage was a dangerous placeI hate watching Keith Moon play drums but man it sounds so good.

I dunno, I kinda like it - body language that rivals the gorilla in this Cadbury's commercial while pulling faces like Buddy Hackett... what's not to love?I hate watching Keith Moon play drums but man it sounds so good.
Yep, and that's true of the 50W version too, they're almost unusable in small venues, unless you pair them with a single low sensitivity speaker... But by doing so I fried 3 or 4 speakers due to the amp spitting out much more power than what it's rated for (I discovered this a couple years too late). To my ears, the have a very narrow sweet spot. Low level, they sound clean, a bit more they are round and warm, a bit more and they compress and dull the sound (yet they have lots of highs)... the spl for right spot is outrageous, fit for an arena!![]()
I saw The Who in 1976(?) - I believe it was the last concernt, in Seattle anyway, with Keith Moon on drums. I spent the night in line so that I could get in early to get a good view - festival seating being what it was. I remember that Keith Moon wore headphones on some of the songs. It's been almost 50 years, so my memory may be wrong though. It seemed like the head phones were there to ensure that the tempo was in sync with the arp sequences in songs like Baba O'Reilly and Won't Get Fooled Again. But I've never researched it, so I'm just talking out of my ass on this. I've been to many concerts over the years, and I still remember this concert as one of the very best. Incredible use of lasers, and a rock band of virtuosos. It was a great show! And NO click or cues! All feeling and emotions.![]()
I have an Alembic f2b and tried to tonematch it in Gilmour settings with several Fender preamp models in the past. I could get somewhere in the ball park for eq shape adding extra eq block, but harmonics were not alike. We basically already have the alembic pre, just select one of the various fender amps with the same preamp/tonestack and turn power amp off.
What we really miss is a way to couple it with the hiwatt power amp, i.e. this: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/gilmour-pulse-amp-model.150488/
Track 1: Modern VibeCould anyone record some new univibe samples please?![]()
Already done (timestamped and free preset in my store)I would try to copy the division bell amp rig, so mix a bassman and a hiwatt jumped model, since we are talking more the 80's/even more so 90's era.

But many Gilmour fans consider his PULSE tones the holy grail, and that was all alembic+hiwatt+doppolas.
Anyway, KitRae's site, even though it has a bit more confusionary organization, is much more detailed and reliable than Gilmourish.
PS: Btw, he also has a page dedicated to the history of the tube driver, worth mentioning since it's related to this update: https://www.kitrae.net/music/Music_mp3_Tube_Driver_Versions.html
Out of all the reasons I could imagine for people liking the way the guitar sounds on Pulse, the Albemic preamp would be pretty far down that list for me.But many Gilmour fans consider his PULSE tones the holy grail, and that was all alembic+hiwatt+doppolas.

Slightly hijacking, was there a visual update to AXE-Edit? I don't remember it looking like that.I use this (placed before amp block) which is not far off from stock for the "Classic Vibe" type (bumped a bit on Rate/Level/Mix).
One of the beautiful things that's been happening in the Axefx evolution is that pretty much stock settings just seem to work more and more often.
