Does this new firmware have any effect when reamping via spdif?
I think I figured out why and made a change to the instructions.I did not get this dialog box from Fractal-Bot.
I'm running 1.12 also. It was posted on forum awhile back. Not really relevant anymore. Just saying.I suspect you meant to say you're currently running 1.11? Versions 1.12 and 1.13 never made it out of beta.
If you want perfect alignment, yeah you could use additional fixed offset - the 24-32 sample offset is small enough that you could skip it without much of an issue (as @GlennO mentioned). So just to be clear, that's the value we should use as DAW latency compensation to have perfect alignment when reamping, right?
USB only loopback will not include DAC nor A/D latency so naturally it will be lower - this is just more of a FYI - i.e. hey everyone this is what I'm getting on my system. This is with a patch that looks like this:EDIT: why at the end of your post do you mention a different number of samples for usb loopback as well? Is the first with just shunts and the latter with amp and cab blocks?
Other than making spdif obsolete when used as a workaround for usb problems, no.Does this new firmware have any effect when reamping via spdif?
I reran it as suggested. Much faster and this time I did get the dialog box. Thanks M@!I think I figured out why and made a change to the instructions.
1. You don't actually need to select "Utility Mode". It works fine if you select "Axe-Fx III"
2. I think this determines whether or not the following confirmation is shown in Fractal-Bot:

I'd love to know how else you can digitally reamp guitars and not use the axefx as an interface on a windows system (reliably).Other than making spdif obsolete when used as a workaround for usb problems, no.
With usb and asio4allI'd love to know how else you can digitally reamp guitars and not use the axefx as an interface on a windows system (reliably).
asio4all I have not explored. Is it reliable? Right now my Apollo is rock solid and it took 3 witch doctors and a blood moon to make that happen. I'd hate to disrupt a working system to add minimal functionality. With usb and asio4all
I'm not sure how you got that from my comment. There are many situations where spdif can and should be used. I'm simply saying working around usb problems is no longer one of those situations.I'd love to know how else you can digitally reamp guitars and not use the axefx as an interface on a windows system (reliably).
understood. Thank you for clarifying.I'm not sure how you got that from my comment. There are many situations where spdif can and should be used. I'm simply saying working around usb problems is no longer one of those situations.
Did you try it on your setup yet? Give it a shot and let us know if it worked.I wonder if it will fix this issue…

This USB Firmware made all my Marshall tones less organic.

Yepp....they just worked right from the start, shame on them...... (didn't know the other yet "unnamed" company, but I'm sure there must be one out in the world.......)Again, shame on every other company for not moving forward the way you guys do.
