Axe-Fx II Quantum 3.02 Firmware Release (3.01 We Hardly New Ye)

Im loving the DYN PRES knob again, I am pretty much boosting it up to 4.00 or 5.00 on most presets now, where on 3.0 I used to have it on 0.00!

I loaded Q3.01 a couple of nights ago, but never even had a chance to plug in a guitar and play with it. As a result, I didn't need to make a backup before I loaded Q3.02. Bonus! :D Thanks Cliff and Co. for your enormous support and dedication to all of us Fractolytes.

I haven't noticed any lack of sustain that couldn't be attributed to my occasional choice of low-volume playing, which will affect sustain of any amp or simulator. I can get any amount of sustain, feedback or bounce by playing with the output level knobs.

Exactly. Did a 2,5 hour gig yesterday, and no problems whatsoever with sustain (or anything else).

Appreciate all the replys to my concerns. I guess the only thing confusing me is I've never had to mess with the compressor, transformer match, or pick attack. It just always sounded good. I'll try to give it another go.

THIS.IS.IT!!!!!

There has always been an intangible element that was lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it. When I listen to the small tube amps my friends are using, like a Tiny Terror, or even an AC30, they sound sort of nasty and unpolished. But when miked and put through a mix, they sound "right". Whatever that knarliness is, helps it cut through.

I feel like I am actually getting that knarliness vibe now with this firmware. It is magical.

Thanks Cliff!!!!

So am I the only one that notices that the amps don't sustain as much and aren't as smooth in the new firmware as opposed to 1.6? I hate to be a Debbie downer. I like grind but even with it off my amps aren't sustaining as long and don't have that full sound that I like in the mix. The grind makes it sound more like my kemper and that's nice but can be harsh in the mix at times, I upgraded and as soon I switched back to 1.6 everything sounded smooth and I was picking a lot easier whereas I felt I was fighting my picking with the new firmware. Anyways hate to be that guy but somehow I'm not hearing what others are hearing. Has the sustain changed with the new algorithms from 1.6 to this one. Also my ir matched aren't creating the same tones. I would assume as an it match I should be getting the same. Anyways appreciate any insight. Maybe there is some settings I can adjust to increase the sustain. I definitely like the grind for some profiles, but would still like to retain the feel of the older firmware.
Not my experience at all . Q3 is smoother, more liquid, easier to dial and sustains ,better! even clean tones sustain better.

I did find I had to turn up the gain a little on my high gain patches. Just a little.

Hi guys, is it intended that I can't seem to bypass the WAH block with scenes for which the source is not internal as it switches back on by itself?
Neither with the Axe edit nor via directly the AxeFX.
Thanks!

probably not the best place to post this. make a new thread and you'll get more responses

Fractal updates are often met with reactions like "this is the pinnacle of tonal nirvana, and all my possible desires have been exceeded!". Then Cliff outdoes himself with another release :)
I love my AxeFX. I love that each release taps into more of its incredible power. Best gear purchase of my life.

Very similar to speed. What was super fast 40 years ago is relatively slow now.
