It is temptingI have a half stack but I badly want to step it up to a full stack!
The EVH cab sounds so good and it’s got dedicated divots for stacking cabs, so it’s unreasonably tempting. It is temptingI have a half stack but I badly want to step it up to a full stack!
The EVH cab sounds so good and it’s got dedicated divots for stacking cabs, so it’s unreasonably tempting.I have a 2x12 as well for my 15watt and under amps. It is glorious. In past I used two 4x12 cabs in parallel for a fuller tone. The difference between 4x12 and 2x12 was minimal. Well, a 4x12 is more than enough for classic amps.
Yes, tube amps are too much fun, its nonsense to ditch them for a digital unit, unless its a financial issue or your amp brand its Bugera!I sold all my tube amps since getting the FM9. But lately I've been thinking about getting another tube amp. Does anyone still use tube amps now and then, or do most just use their Fractal?
In the past I’d use Intermetro/metal rack shelving but girlfriends expect stuff to look like furniture. I need to invest in a lock for that room to keep her out. Or find some classy shelving options.Stack up, not out.
holy cow! (I'm doin the $ math on this in my head - holy cow!I still use amps. just finished up a WDW rig. View attachment 140213

)Im using a JP2C as my dry amp and 2 mark v's as my wet amps. the Marshall 1960A cab has Splawn small block's in it.holy cow! (I'm doin the $ math on this in my head - holy cow!)

and I still have 2 mesa badlanders for spare. one is the 50 watt and the other is a 100 watt with the mr scarry mod in it.holy cow! (I'm doin the $ math on this in my head - holy cow!)
So I’m pretty sure the Axe model is the 120 Mk3 Rev A amp. Which I owned before trading for a Bogner and then missing that amp enough that I decided to get a G50. The G50 is a lot more pissed off. It reminds me of a Mark IV Mesa amp in Pentode/Midgain/Full power. The axe model isn’t worlds apart.
My favorite channel of the two Revvs I've owned was the green channel, which I did not expect. I'm a high-gain guy all day, and I enjoy that one the most. The clean channel on the G50 is even better than on the 120Mk3 Rev A. I'm not sure how they did it, but it's far from boring now. I like how it’s not a massive amp and it gets plenty loud. It’s also a very pissed off purple channel. Haven’t bothered trying a boost with it yet but it doesn’t need it.
Be like me. Never play your Fractal through a computer. I only hook up for updates or occasionally downloading a preset.Well I'm sold. I've been spending too much time on computers with work lately and I feel like it is starting to impact my enjoyment of the AxeFX. Definitely not abandoning Fractal but want to dip my toes back into something a bit more plug-and-play as an option on those days I just can't look at a screen anymore...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
This. Pull up a preset, and start playing. Total plug-and-play, if you let it be that.Be like me. Never play your Fractal through a computer. I only hook up for updates or occasionally downloading a preset.
You can still tweak standaloneBe like me. Never play your Fractal through a computer. I only hook up for updates or occasionally downloading a preset.

Mine stays hooked up, but i barely ever tweak it.Be like me. Never play your Fractal through a computer. I only hook up for updates or occasionally downloading a preset.
lol. I was always wanting to build a wet dry wet rig so I was like well I have all this equipment so I put it to work. eventually I work in the axe fx 3 in on this rig but for now the rig sounds great and I still use the axe fx 3 on my other rig, holy cow! (I'm doin the $ math on this in my head - holy cow!)
I still use my Dr. Z Maz 18 about 20% of the time for quick throw and go gigs with poor sound guys lol. The FM3 with IEMs 80% of the time. I love both options. Now that I have a Freyette Powerstation I’m thinking of using that with the FM3 into a cab, just need a cab or lug the Dr Z and use as a cab.I sold all my tube amps since getting the FM9.
