Loving the custom screen export/import! Makes it so much easier to use fracpad between my devices. Thanks :) Trying to get the visual metronome to work. It's just showing up as blank expect a brief flash when adding it to the custom screen grid. Enabling the metronome doesn't seem to effect it.

Axe FX XL+ with Auria Pro (iPad)

Yep! Once you have the bootloader loaded via the USB port & computer connection, it works perfectly to record into an iPad when you switch it out for the usb lightning cable.

Hmmm, I never really disabled the looper block before, but just noticed when I do so in FracPad in turns on the wah block. Have iPad mini 2 on older release version & iPad 2 on todays 1.07(2) beta, both do it.

Hmm, though I'm mostly using fracpad on my iPad Air 2, I've occasionally been using my iPad mini 2 & it's worked fine. Haven't hadn't any lags or crashes. I have a few hours to play with it this afternoon before some lessons I'm teaching, so i'll run it through its paces just to double check.

AX8 Wishes

Was in the process of moving some blocks from my Axe-FX to my AX8 and noticed that in the AX8 the level in the mixer block of the Amp has no modifier available. Usually I use a modifier on that level via scene controllers to balance out volume. Anyway to add that in?

There is a big difference between great intonation and having pure 3rds, or any other interval for that matter. What BF gives you is consistently tuned 3rds throughout the whole fingerboard. Love the BF on my Suhr too but in no way are the 3rds any better (by better i mean closer to JI 3rds)...

Well if I understand your question right, yes. Thats exactly what changing the config in tuner does. BUT are you sure that is what your looking to do? Based on the two guys you mentioned and the somewhat low 420hz, which is almost just Ab, are you just looking to tune down a 1/2 step?

Never said you had to study MP&E to have great tone...but it would help in not making some mistakes. I know this isn't the exact sound you are going after but we can fine tune it some after. Try preset #32..the cameron high one. Do you still have the masked A & D strings?

The thing is symphx, unless your paying me I am not going to record samples for you or the OP. Just pick preset #32 (Cameron High) and you'll have your high gain without killing the A & D strings.

New firmware 4.0.1 makes all my patches very high-end/shrill sounding and loud.

V4.01 update caused blank screen and all lights on

You could read the firmware txt included ;-) Here is #7. After the flash has been reprogrammed the unit should automatically reboot. Occasionally the unit may not reboot automatically in which case turn the unit off, wait several seconds and turn back on.

Looper Axe-fx II and MFC-101 setup help

Figured it out! Doh.....had an PEQ IA assigned to the switch, and even though I wasn't using it, it needed to be removed first. Thanks for the help!

Yes..and enabled. Have no problem manually hitting record and it working. Have them set to toggle

Well I think getting the correct CC/IA setup is where I'm running into problems. For example...I chose IA #1 and have that assigned to CC 28 on the mfc to match the axe's looper rec CC. Nothing..am i missing something?

HI, I had a quick question with regards to setting up the axe-fx 2 looper and the mfc-101. Basically what I wanted to do, while using the mfc-101 in default 5 preset 12 IA mode, is use the 5 IA's under the reveal to control the looper's record/play/dub/reverse. Is there a way to do this...

LMO's new IR conversion utility

Doh...nevermind! Guess it is an actual unix executable file.... a python script. Not really an application in the standard sense. You can get it to open files without the TCL error popping up?

Anybody got the mac version to work properly? Deleting the name.zip after the app at least unzips it properly, but it seems to be a classic app that isn't supported in the newer Lion OS.

Well you can buy a compass cutting tool at a "craft" store. I wound up just making one from a wooden dowel, pen, and an xacto knife blade.

Changed the font and pics, and came up with something closer to my old pedalboard for looks. Also MacGyvered a tool to help cut out those pesky circles. Now what to do with the old labels ;-)

Its not tacky..its magnetic! ;-) Visually it really does help make out what you have below you on a dark stage. Sure one could have no pics and just big names or something, but why not make it a tad more interesting? Really its not something except you or some curious gear nerds would notice...

Thanks for the great labels & templates! They look & work fantastic using the cheap staples magnet sheets. $11 for 4 sheets. Had good luck using scissors for the main edges and using an Xacto knife for the center hole. One thing with the xacto knife I found is that you need to press hard and cut...

My presets

Had some time to load the banks & give them a whirl. Very nice! All of them sound great...plus its very easy to tweak the amp block to re-eq and add more/less drive without destroying the sound of them. Having fun playing around with them!

yea, we like to think of it as progressive/avant-garde jazz-rock with a fake ethnic music twist. I wish the guitar was louder myself...was plenty loud enough in the room fortunately. The camera was way in the back behind everything. Just had a gig a few weeks back with the mighty prog band...

Hey, Put up some video on youtube of my band Tamandua's show last Saturday. Axe-fx ultra direct to house. Was at an old school cabaret place, so the PA was some no-name small meant for vocals only thing. Video was in back of room and just was picking up house sound, so its a tad quiet...

If I had those pedals Id hook them up to my ultra with heavy duty ethernet cable, making sure its crossover ethernet cable though. Maybe Id even go wireless and run them through some bluetooth/airport wireless out to the axe-fx :P I think most people just thought you were joking...its like...

Damn Dweezil...you have nailed Franks tone, its down right scary! Always thought those tones on shut up n play were some of the most beautiful ever recorded. Been stuck trying to figure out that clean pink napkins dual dynaflanged tone (like your clean inca solo clip)...but you got that plus...

V10 Ultra .... come and get it!

Loving all the new models & tweeks..got a feeling that some of them are gonna become my go to amps. But the one that has surprised me right off the bat is the new marshall. Sounds amazing with a lower drive setting especially with a pedal out in front.

Some Patch Request, also willing to pay

Honestly there is pretty not much to tweak to get any of those sounds. Just pop in the appropriate amp model, dial in , and then add some reverb and delay. Couldnt be much easier! The Kreisberg sound you listed is all tone from the guitar...pretty much any amp real or modeled will sound like...

Carol Ann...Not what I was expecting?!

Im loving the Carol-Ann model! Maybe I just like my tone on the dark side, but with a low drive setting and a High Master and the EQ pretty much on 6 except for a low presence setting, Im getting a fantastic tone. Sounds very much like how I have my THD Flexi setup.

Fluid legato phrasing, with no pick attack, ala Holdsworth..

Well the secret to that sound is some PARAEQ. NOt that tricky to do...just need some cuts in the 5k and 10k range. Depending on your pick, guitar, amp settings, you can really hone in on the exact freq and can take away the pick attack even more. I just posted some holdsworth patches last week...
