    How import Ir

I use no processing. Min phase means the phase response of the original IR is basically discarded and replaced in order to, well make it minimum phase. Your IR vendor may or may already not have done this processing. Min phase can be helpful if you want to mix various IRs and not have to worry...

Not a Bug Missing Dynacabs and input calibration files when installed on external drive

Ok, good to know - you may want to warn on the installer though. However, it WAS the standalone application where I saw the issue - that's also not supported?

Aliasing in the ICONS plugin? No oversampling? (Spoiler: it's a bug)

Seeing the same thing on that preset (disabled everything but the amp) - I think it's related to the input boost? With input boost off:

Standalone (PC) knocks out all other audio

Not a Bug Missing Dynacabs and input calibration files when installed on external drive

I installed the trial but selected a different install location (my attached external SSD). When using the standalone app - Dynacabs were missing and the input calibration directory was empty. I didn't try the plugin. Re-installing but keeping the default install location resolved the issue...

    ICONS accurate input calibration

I just meant that since it's a known reference by convention( a 1KHz sine wave at .755V RMS), we know what the peak voltage is, since it's a sine wave. So an interface advertising a 16dBu max input therefore means, we can feed it a 1KHz 4.89V RMS sine wave without clipping. That sine wave has...
  13. AlbertA

    ICONS accurate input calibration

dBu units are specified in reference to 0.775V RMS. So 0dBu = .775V RMS. 0.775V RMS because that's the voltage required that results in 1 mW of power into a 600Ω load. 600Ω comes from the telephone era, the impedance of the telephone transmission lines. For dBV units, the reference is 1V RMS...
  14. AlbertA

    ICONS accurate input calibration

Correct, an amp modeler needs to relate a physical voltage level to the resulting level in the digital domain. For H/W modelers, since they know their own input frontend design, they know this relationship and it's not a problem. For amp modeler plugins, given that audio interfaces are all...

So yeah it's a bit of a one trick pony (well 3 if you count the plate and the spring) - Value wise, your money is probably better spent in something like a Hotone Verbera if you want more variety (or you know the Fractal reverbs) unless you really want this specific sound. Here's what it sounds...
  34. AlbertA

Keeley Nocturne Andy Timmons Reverb Pedal

Not necessarily no - the Halo is four modulated delay lines (2 for the L, 2 for the R) with the modulating LFOs almost but not quite in quadrature. In addition the input to the 1/4 delay lines is phase inverted which all contributes to the stereo spread.
  35. AlbertA

Keeley Nocturne Andy Timmons Reverb Pedal

This is what intrigued me when I learned it was only done with delay, yes. I have the pedal here. Like I said, when you play legato, the repeat wash away in a halo, hence the name. Do a staccato, you hear them. 🤷‍♂️

It's possible they use diffusion in this one yeah, there's no diffusion on the Halo though.
  39. AlbertA

Keeley Nocturne Andy Timmons Reverb Pedal

The halo is - if you play legato, the repeats kinda get...well Haloey :) staccato attack you can hear the repeats clearly.
  40. AlbertA

Keeley Nocturne Andy Timmons Reverb Pedal

When they first unveiled the Halo I thought they used diffusion to - but no, it's 4 modulated delay lines (nerd out here)
  41. AlbertA

Keeley Nocturne Andy Timmons Reverb Pedal

Yeah - It's like they said, imagine the Halo delay reverby sound but without the identifiable repeats in the tail. I think it's the same housing as the Halo Core, same sort of knob style as well.

Did not like the Helix Stadium XL....

Yeah that's good rule of thumb - buy a product for the features it has today. Did not like the Helix Stadium XL....

I do find their version of the "grid" to be fairly limited. You can't criss-cross between paths you cannot split from 1A/1B into 2A or 2B - you have to send it all the way to the "output" to be able to forward to 2A/2B from 1A/1B. You can't merge path 1B and continue it after the merge, stuff...

Well at least you tried it - I was not impressed initially with the initial presets but I wasn't going to send it back without really exploring it - I'm glad I did. Yeah currently there's no gapless preset switching. I hope they add that capability in the future Interesting - I did not have the same experience. I have not played with all the amps yet - I've mainly done the Twin Reverb and the EVH Panama Red. With the Twin Reverb it was all there for me...

It means its good - it's in the same neighborhood of the Motu M series interfaces which have excellent low latency. I believe they use JUCE so a lot of the hard work is done by the framework, that's not to say this is a cost free endeavor however - it still requires engineering time to support and keep it running well, especially as you say there's many distros out there with their own idiosyncrasies. You...
