Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

Ok that makes sense. So basically it’s exactly the same as running the normal way on the "1 dub" setting, but you’re just bypassing the dry side of the pedal completely. So you’re splitting your guitar’s signal before the mimiq. Gotcha.

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

In my experience, and this might sound harsh, but every negative review I’ve read was written by somebody who didn’t know what they were doing. It’s a pretty specialized pedal that effectively needs two fully independent rigs to work properly, and most people don’t have two rigs setup to be...

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

Does it have stereo inputs? If not, you should run the Mimiq after it. If it does, and you can keep the inputs stereo separated, then yep you should be good running it in front of the tonex.

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

That I don’t understand. If you have it set for 1 dub, in theory you shouldn’t even be able to hear it if you’re only plugged into the dedicated 2nd output for stereo.

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

Yep I run mine on the 1 dub setting, so one side is an entirely dry, and the other side is a totally "Mimiq'ed" wet tone. That's the best way to simulate two guitarists imo.

Wish Wish please - Mimic (Mimiq) Block

I have a Mimiq and love the thing. Nothing else really does what it does. If you use it as intended, routing it before your amps, then build two fully separate parallel rigs and pan them apart for stereo, it sounds excellent. Dialed correctly, it’s very convincing as a double tracking sim...

Do You Use the Enhancer Block?

I used to use it for stereo spread, but then I discovered I could use the Pitch block to get Van Halen’s Balance effect (left pitch down a few ct, right pitch up a few ct, center dry) which to my ears resulted in a better sounding way to accomplish the same goal. And as a bonus it flattens to...

Why Steve Vai 'Wasn't a Big Fan of the Marshall Sound'.How Carvin Made His 'Favorite' Amp

For what Vai does, his tone is incredible. His gain tones have a harmonic complexity and softness or grease that you really don't hear anywhere else, not "tight" at all in the traditional sense but still clear, it's very signature to Vai. I'd say his tone with the Carvins and his own Synergy...

Latency issues using I/O 3/4 for FX loops

Thanks. I've tested this since that last post of mine and found that doing this does add some lag if you place the Send block to the right of the Return block on the grid. It's not enough of a difference to perceive by itself but it does mess with phase if you blend the final signal with an...

Fractal Plexi vs. UA Lion 68

Yep. And don’t forget that the UA Lion is also a modeler pedal that doesn’t have presets and isn’t MIDI controllable. So if you ever use it live, you better hope that you only need exactly one sound from it and nothing else.

You know, I was looking at it and it just never occurred to me before but yep, the entire idea for this routing basically starts out as a parallel mixer for all the post effects, so it does act as a line mixer in that way. The difference is that the Axe-Fx also lets you route all the post...

    Depends entirely on the amp!
