Axe-Fx into UA Apollo Twin=Mind Blown

Why? I'm happy. Convoluted in what way? From memory a stereo track didn't allow me to receive both left and right from the Apollo. I didn't interrogate this but created two mono tracks for each side. It allows me to easily alter the eq on one side only if I fancy. I have a very simple...

Axe-Fx into UA Apollo Twin=Mind Blown

I've tried analogue, USB and spdif. For whatever reason I was happiest with the latter. The creation of an aggregated device to facilitate USB I found problematic. I connected via spdif using a cheap coaxial to optical converter. It sounded cool. I've stuck with it. It likely has no basis in...

Right handed playing a lefty guitar!

I'm one of many lefties that learnt to play right handed. Why? Because the shop had no left hookers and the salesman told me the left hand does the work. Whilst that's not true, I knew nothing so went the right handed root. Felt very strange to start with. 35 years later I don't regret it at...

Old Patch Suddenly Too Much CPU Usage?

Connecting USB will draw on the the cpu I imagine and enough to tip your preset over the edge. Try reducing the cpu level, maybe by say changing a reverb quality to normal, a standard res cab, or something similar which doesn't impact too much on your functionality

I'm surprised you want to add reverb to the low end. I find that makes it a bit flubby. I always low cut the reverb in my daw to just give some air to the higher frequencies. Interested in your reasoning.

Much Aussie slang is a throwback to older English slang and cockney rhyming slang. Dates back to when Leon's ancestors were leaving England in chains 😉. For those that don't know Australia was a British penal colony until we let them loose and they got really good at cricket.

I have no idea how to record decent sounding metal tones. Everything sounds a little muffled?

Cut bass, boost treble and presence. My live tones are useless for recording. Muddy like you say. My recording tones are bright and quite thin, but once in the mix, double and triple tracked with varying eq, sound huge. Look up some isolated guitar tracks on you tube. It was a revelation to me...

Tweaking FOH to sound good and In Ears as well

Use the EQ on the aux channel of the desk. Unless you are sending out 1 and 2 to the desk which would be a bit pointless unless you specifically want to have out 2 dedicated to your IEMs so you could use the axe output EQ. Personally I think that could confuse matters at FOH.

How do I get different output levels from cab to PA?

Unless your cab is stereo or you are using two cabs in stereo then just take one output from the axe (output 2, send, which is fed by the FX loop. This goes to input A on the matrix. Set the mode to parallel. Use output A to feed your cab. And volume A on the front.

Really liking Opto 1 post amp/cab (set to line). The gain reduction in the output level is quite significant which is fine. How to tweak FOH when using Axe Fx II and CLR?

I just take the edge off the top end a couple of db and trust in the man behind the desk. I find they are often better at adding than subtracting. Most of my presets are low end light by design as I like to steer clear of the bass and kick so the rest of the output eq is left flat

The matrix is a very good power amp. It is very neutral imo and any colouration it does impart to the sound is positive. It's success though will depend on your cab though of course. If this straw poll is anything to go by then it would seem that a significant number of lefties play right handed.
