Totally agree with everything above. I recently acquired the FX8 (also at the B stock sale) and I am running it through my Suhr Bella. Amazing setup - the days of spending way too much on pedals is finally over!!!!

For drive and boost definitely try scenes, I love incorporating different gain settings on an amp within the same preset. You can take it a step further with the X/Y settings and even incorporate a different amp for your solo. Might be a game changer for you!

China Grove Double verb with 4x12 V30's

Enjoyed the sound clip and downloaded the preset this weekend. I'm really (pleasantly) surprised how well it translates to my set up (R9) with minimal tweaking. Fun on its own, solid in the mix good work!

MFC-101 Mk III and AxeFx II XL+ (Firmware 18) Name Timeout SOLVED!

A note to NON XL users when updating to 3.07. Your unit (MFC) will default to XL and you must manually select the correct Axe unit via the MFC Edit/Setup menus. I think this is what finally solved "Timeout" message error.

"AXE-FX NAME TIMEOUT" using CAT.5. Upgrade to CAT.6 reasonable?

I seem to have fixed my "timeout" message issues going through the steps set out above. I also noticed (and it is mentioned in one of the Fractal posts that the MFC defaults to Axe XL (which I don't have) so I had to set this accordingly through the MFC Edit/Setup menus.

That demo is a great idea, FWIW I think I prefer #1 though 5 is pretty close. BTW bought the pak last night and fired a couple of random Alloys into a few of my (clean and gritty) presets and even I notice a definite improvement in clarity and just overall feel. Great job!

This might not be suitable for your application but you could introduce a mixer into the mix (so to speak), I'm using an Allen & Heath ZED10 fx, I run my Ave (in stereo) directly into the A&H, the A&H into my iMac via USB ( my main DAW is Logic Pro as well) then for monitoring I run both a pair...

Adding a looper block issues w MFC

The other thing I have noticed is if you insert the looper block to a preselected preset (ie. you have already called up the preset on you MFC BEFORE adding the looper block) using Axe Edit, you need to select a different preset and then reselect your edited (looper block) preset before the MFC...

My problem was cutting the loop slightly short on the last bar of the looped phrase (quantize would definitely help here). I found what seemed to work best for me was starting and stopping pretty much right on the 1.

I use them sometimes, but beware, an entire new potential rabbit hole! I have dialed in some very nice presets with no mic and then done the ol' "let's see what this does" and said wow that even better. The way I look at it if it gets me closer to my sound, why not?

I agree with this. I auditioned a number of monitors including the k12's, all side by side and all of them coloured the tone in their own unique way. I quite liked the k12's but if this is going to be your reference point for establishing presets I guess there is this consequence.

For me issues were clipping especially while playing my guitar through the axe over a backing track. I did try various solutions including turning down the output signal of the source audio (for me Logic or ITunes)' this wasn't ideal. I also fooled around with a mixer which yielded better...

Use AXE-FXII XL as audio interface?

One thing to watch for is playing audio back through the Axe (assuming it is your only interface). Several here including myself, have experienced issues in this regard.

I was just playing around with it yesterday, very nice. I also like the crunch from the amp, very warm and articulate. What cab(s) are you using. I tried a variety of 1x12's and 2x12's and for now have settled on the 1x12 AC-20Dlx Mix (UR).

Axe-Fx II Firmware 15.00 Released

Phew! I just read through this entire thread, what a ride! For a little while there I thought I had somehow switched over to a heated TGP rant (probably Axe vs. Kemper) with name calling, insults and all. All I can say is that I am blown away by FW 15. I AM NOT an audio engineer or professional...

Axe-Edit 3.0.10 for firmware 15!

Got my problem solved, With AE open, go to settings and As soon as I did this I got the "connected green check mark". FYI before selecting Axe-FX II Midi ports were set to "None". Hope this helps.

Last night I updated to FW 15 and Axe Edit 3.0.10 and now Axe Edit won't connect. I'm running OSX 10.7.5. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AE. tried a different USB cord but problem persists. My computer is recognizing the Axe as an audio interface option so I don't believe its an issue with...

Axe-Edit 3.0.10 for firmware 15!

HAs anyone else experienced this problem. I just updated to Firmware 15 and then downloaded and updated Axe Edit, however when I open Axe Edit it shows the red Disconnected x, however my Axe is hooked up to the computer via USb and the USB is working ( I know because in the Audio Preferences...

What is the 'zen master' drive pedal?

Think Robben Ford. I do have a Zenmaster and I'm quite happy with the Axe emulation. Like the real deal doesn't play nice with every amp.

FW 15 noise gate settings

No hijack intended here but a quick clarification question on this amp re-selection process. After you select another/re-select the original is it necessary to then save the preset as well (in order to preserve the changes relative to the new firmware)? Thanks.
