Extremely well played and awesome tone, respect! The Plexi normal is one of my favorite amps - what did you dial in to achieve this gain structure? Did you boost in front of the amp? BB Pre?

    Electromagnetic Interference - Help!!

In my case it is an electric cattle fence in the neighborhood that I pick up with P90s in form of a click every 1.2 seconds or so (noticable when not playing or when paying attention to it). Before, there was a short in the fence (metal touching metal) and I could pick up the click even with...

FX Loop - where is my thinking flawed? Any ideas?

Yek - thank you! I was playing with the output level as opposed to the input level in the FX loop. When adjusting the Line 2 AND Main level in the block it works. Even though I need to add 30db in total to get it seemingly at unity.
  15. D

FX Loop - where is my thinking flawed? Any ideas?

FX Level = 0 dB (also tried to increase to no avail) - OP2 on the front is at 3 o'clock. I should also mention that I normally use OP2 (FX Send) to feed my Matrix Q12a which works fine (OP1 to Studio monitors). I have read that the presence of an FX loop block "overrules" any I/O settings for...

FX Loop - where is my thinking flawed? Any ideas?

Recently I had the chance to acquire some Tom Scholz Rockman modules. My thinking was now to use the FX Loop to output (the guitar signal connected to the Axe input) to the input of the Sustainor (FX Send) and retrieve the Rockmudules output back into the grid (FX Return). The output from...

WISH: Axe Edit to reflect IA states (from external controllers) [SOLVED]

This has been asked for by several people in the past but seemingly gone quiet - Matt said at some time last year that they might look into it when they had time but apparently, that time has not come yet... Therefore, I want to put in a "formal" request now so that it is not forgotten. My...

DAW recordings and mixing VST plugin advice anyone?

While in the meantime, I am sometimes able to call up a good overdriven / hi gain tone on my Matrix Q12a, these tones still do not translate well into my recordings (Cubase 7.5). I am not looking mainly for metal but rather slightly overdriven tones a la Dumble. I have read and understand the...

Went to see Joe Bonamassa last night in Dusseldorf and man - what a show! First of all, the overall FOH sound was the best I have heard in that rather old venue. Joe's playing is jaw dropping and goose bump inducing - he really makes those Les Pauls sing like angels. I was completely blown...

Eugene, just subscribed and liked - that was an easy one :-) Thanks for your replies in regard to the settings! Axe-Edit / MFC bypass states

Does not work with non-MFC controllers like FCB1010 (state change only updated once after initial modifier assignment in AE). I still hope that IA state change reflection is being properly incorporated into AE in the near future.
  31. D

Bug? AxeEdit not reflecting bypass states of blocks

Except for the looper, AE "never" reflects effect state changes made from external midi gear. There were several threads about this behavior and essentially it means you cannot comfortably use a floor controller while tweaking in AE which would be the normal process in my opinion (you tweak...

Exp pedal to control output 2 vol???

Works great here with a non-MFC midi pedalboard with attached exp pedal sending CC12, controlling OP volume on a Q12a FRFR connected to OP2! "copy OP1 to OP2" is set in the IO menu. Interesting to note is that triggering "bypass" from the board with CC13 mutes the output on OP1 but NOT on OP2...

Thanks much all for your quick replies! I am happy to know that everything is ok. Out of curiosity: Why does the same thing not happen with /apply to the OP1 Level knob? Different mechanism? My setup works without issues now with an expression pedal sending cc12 (OP 2 Level) - max volume...

"Fluttering" noise when moving OP 2 Level Knob (connected with FRFR)?

Hooked up my new FRFR active cab to OP 2 (OP 1 is connected via XLR to a Monitor line mixer). All is fine except when changing volume with the Axe OP 2 Level knob, a "fluttering" noise can be heard - only when the knob is moved. When the FRFR cab is connected to OP1 (same cable, unbalanced...

    Reading and savin block definitions

Same here - just uploaded FW 11.01 plus the new banks and now AE goes through that block reading thing on every start of AE - did not do that before the FW upload (Win 7 64 - used as admin). Not the end of the world, just a little annoying as the block reading takes a while.

AE Total Sync - Gone but not forgotten...

Thanks for the insight! Also just saw your reply to krcassid that it is not related to MFC or non-MFC Controllers but rather due to the fact that the Axe is not broadcasting state changes at present. Changing presets and scenes via Midi is indeed reflected in AE already at this time which...

Can someone at FAS please comment if total sync for AE (in this case resyncing FX block states and paramters in AE when FX block state or paramters are triggered/changed in the Axe via Midi from a non MFC device like i.e. an FCB1010 or a Liquid Foot controller) is planned for a future release or...

First of all: Thank you FAS for FW11 - the Axe never sounded better - all amps! Some of the new presets are killer as well, like i.e. the Dual Clean. AE 3.0 also works really well for me and I am glad that the wait is finally over. One thing I noticed though is that on external MIDI Input...

How quiet is your setup with the II?

Right on - forgot to mention that explicitely. And some manufacturers do in fact shield right from the factory. E.g. recent American Standard Fenders (and up, I would assume) are shielded with shielding paint. A good test is always to see if the hum increases when the strings are not touched...

How quiet is your setup with the II?

Apart from all the obvious suggestions here (environment, cabling, power supply etc.) - as far as the guitar itself is concerned, I've had great results by using adhesive copper foil - on SCs, HBs and even P-90s (to a certain extend). IMHO it is important to shield all the cavities, starting...

The scrutnizer template works just using a midi cable

That would be great as a lot of us most likely run rtpMidi or something similar anyway for other tasks. BTW - while Midi Bridge is a great app, i.e. with rtpMidi it would not be necessary as you can include "regular" midi devices in and out in the config.

Anybody use Axe-Fx w/ Reason 6? Other tips w/ recording needed.

Sounds like you are all set! I am operating on Win 7 / 64 but it should not be a big difference in terms of Win vs Mac, except when you want to operate your Axe as an audio interface in parallel with your M-Audio (as your speakers are likely attached to the M-Audio) - e.g. for re-amping. In Mac...

Axe for Lemur ready for beta testers

Now that makes it easy to understand then why it does not work from the FP :-) Almost thought so in the meantime... well - main thing is the foot controller works with the template now. When it happens, the fluttering stops as soon as I stop moving the control, so it is likely not a MIDI...

Axe for Lemur ready for beta testers

PS: I would also be awesome if a future release could query and update the scene state (e.g. on switching scenes via the foot controller). Axe for Lemur ready for beta testers

Thanks for the update! What you say in regard to the rebroadcasting of CCs via Midi-USB from the Axe makes complete sense to me, as i.e. PC messages from the FCB1010 are reflected directly in the Axe AND the template while CCs are neither reflected in the template nor in AE (the looper being the...
