Wait for AXE FX IV or just get the AXE FX III ?

Even the IV it were announced tomorrow, it would probably take a year to clear out the instantly full waiting list, if history repeats itself.

Dyna-cab, general consensus is that they're "better" than legacy?

I won't go on a limb and say they're "better", but for me, they're definitely much easier to use. I find most regular IRs to be too bassy because most are close mic'd. So adding heavy low cuts was always a necessity for me. With the Dyna-Cabs, I can control the bass just by pulling the mics...

What Dyna Cab recipes are people using for Plexis?

I've found a combination of the Friedman GB and the Friedman V30 works great for all sorts of Marshall sounds.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Release

Not too bright, but brighter than a lot of the other amps. It's bright like the Soldano. Bright is good for me. A lot of the time I struggle with too much low end. I'm really liking the ability to control the bass in the cab block now just by moving the mic.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Release

Just spent some time with V22. I'm going to have to recalibrate the way I dial tones. I'm used to having to apply low cuts, but now I can just keep the boom from getting in in the first place by moving the mic back. Man, that Rev amp is bright.

Played through the FAS Models for the first time

Brit Brown, which is also a FAS model, is my go to Marshall.

    Let’s talk Humbusters.

In the last few years I've spent way more than I care to admit finding noiseless singles that I can live with for my Fenders. I just couldn't find any other way to deal with the noise. But when my dishwasher is running, it even defeats humbuckers.

Adjust Bass, Middle and Treble And/Or Moving Dyna-cab Position

The tonestack center frequency is an adjustable parameter on the preamp page in the amp block. Adjusting it can change the amp tone in a big way.

Adjust Bass, Middle and Treble And/Or Moving Dyna-cab Position

I've found that a good IR will work with multiple amps, and doesn't require a lot of eq, or rather the eq can be used to enhance the tone rather than to try and fix it. A bad IR can't be saved with any mount of eq. That being said, it's really not one or the other. It's an iterative process...

About the role of a compressor

Do you actually mean 0.22-0.32 ms, or 22 to 32 ms? I just went and checked, it was news to me that the attack time could actually be set to sub-millisecond times. I'll play around with that some after the wife gets up.

About the role of a compressor

You can also try increasing the attack time so that the pick transient gets through before the compressor kicks in.

    axe fx connect to mixer

Lots of possibilities on my mixer. Note that on my mixer a stereo signal can go to either two mono channels or one stereo channel. The following would apply to either. Make sure of the cabling from the Axe FX outputs to the mixer inputs. Make sure you're actually running into to the mixer...

Comparing Low Cut - High Cut Methods

All the eq options are one of the most powerful features in the Axe. One eq option in the amp block that is very useful is the eq between the preamp and power amp, which is typically used for the Mesa scoop. With NMV amp models, using a low cut here can let you run the preamp gain up without...

    Axe-Fx Firmware Version 21.02

Just loaded the new FW and played with the compressors a bit. I seem to be getting that steel guitar squash I was having trouble getting before. Very nice. One comment. It might be nice to have a gain limit setting on the sustainers.
