I'm sure another factor was to cut down on costs for traveling with/or shipping gear domestically and internationally for festivals and radio shows. As well as the consistency of their IEM's every night from show to show, and from venue to venue.

I've been using the pedal jack on the rear of my AxeFx II mk.1 with a TR cable, and mesa single foot switch. With my I/O set up to switch the x/y on Amp 1 block. All was well... But about an hour ago I tried a few other pedals to see if they would function the same way. I tried a Boss LS-2 line...

Noob Question - Single Coils and Optimal Amp Sims (photo heavy)

We're in similar boats. My main two guitars are a vintage spec partscaster I obsessed over for ages with Fender CS 54 pickups, and a PRS CU22 with 57/08's. I definitely have different presets for each guitar. The tone would be too wildly different to successfully share the same amp block...

Besides his Fender combo, and 2 Axe's. I see a small (most likely powered) monitor, a boss tuner in front of that. And then a stage hand holding a pedal board with a smallish midi foot controller, and at least one expression pedal

That didn't really read like a Robin interview. Seems like the editor may have cleaned it up and taken a few liberties. Buuuut that's just an opinion. Super cool he's on an Axe now. Makes so much sense for their music, and how their live production works.

Dual amps

I like to use 2 amps split hard left and right to different cabs in all my patches. When they're sitting on top of each other in a mono scenario I don't love it. For my big heavy patches I'll mix a big low end gain monster like the HBE, with something else with less gain and more midrange...

Anyone using a 2x12 and a 4x12? How's this set up sound?

Yeah, I'm using an AxeII into a Mesa 2:100 Recto power amp. And that splits out to a Mesa Recto 4x12 with V30's, and to a Mesa Lonestar 2x12 with C90's. With this setup it's really great to send a different amp block to each cab. My new favorite combo is the Friedman HBE (sent to the 4x12)...

New Unit on the way, new user, questions...

At that time I was running a mono signal split out of the VH4 (the 2nd was a spare) to a JCM800 4x12 cab, and a Diezel 4x12, both with Celestion V30's. The tone was unreal!! This story partially ends in tears though. I only had that rig for a few years till I gave up playing professionally for...
