On a similar topic, any interest in modeling an original Nobels ODR-1? It's an interesting OD pedal that was very cheap originally, but going for big bucks kinda like the cult status of the plastic Arion Chorus pedal :)

I'd be willing to ship it to you if you are interested.

In a real one, Eric uses:

the Hi and Lo controls almost off.

The Drive and Master control is about 1/3 on only (About 10 o’clock position)

The Bias control is set at about 3 o’clock position.

With this settings in the pedal you have the Violin Tone right away.

I have a 4 knob version like Eric's. The tone controls on the Tube Driver in the Axe do not seem to work the same as on my real one. The same settings on the the Tube Driver in the Axe did not give the same results. I had to use different settings on the one in the Axe to get similar results. Experiment with it. There are some good sounds possible.

While in theory this sounds good, it doesn't really work in practice. If you open up your Amp Cab, you will find approx. 80 different controls to adjust.
The average person cannot just get in there and tweak with their ears. You have to have the AFX Owners manual open, Wiki opened for review, and lots of time to read all the "tone" threads in the Users Forums.
I also note that most of the controls have adjustments that have a digital number in the hundreds, if not thousands. If we teak by ear, then there is no use for the Numeric Displays. I don't see the average stop box having digital output for it's controls.
Like it or not, the AFX is typically tweaked by numbers. Tweaking via ears is only for the Advanced Users.

Agreed, but the drive has significantly less parameters to tweak. I can't believe it's impossible to get very close (if not exact) with the existing model. I find this drive to be by far the coolest one out there. It sizzles, it coos, it howls, it challenges my noise gate like a MF... I'm as interested as anyone to get that Eric 'tone', but can't say I'm not happy with what is there now...

Very interesting that you mentioned that Arion Chorus. I used to have one and it was one of my favorite chorus effects I have ever owned.
 
i'll send you $100 to model his pedal!!! it is different that any other pedal in that section...it really has a unique flavor that i miss...want this bad!!!
