I just wrote it in the other thread but I'll repeat it here too: the prices on that Thai distributor contain some vat/tax/charge for sure cuz an fm3 for example costs the equivalent of 1350$. By doing a simple proportion between those prices and the US price of the FM3, I expect the VP4 to cost around 650$... Or maybe even 600$ considering that distributors usually tend to charge a bit more on newly released products. If that's correct, I guess we're talking about 999 EUR (incl. VAT) in Europe. I was just thinking that I would probably buy it after all, but to be honest it's a bit more than I'd be willing to pay.
Or get a HXFX, get 9 fx, and pay $650
Yep. I'm not buying that "I might suddenly decide to go with Phaser instead of Chorus" kind of examples.Real Amp and pedal board users do not reflect in totally equipped patches like we are as the "regular" Amp Sim users. A few patches with different effect blocks will surely do the job and when I can I'm interested for using this little guy in front of my 2 junior amps. A great asset.

Comparing the Thai prices with the other products, The VP4 is probably headed at 899€, when going at similar price rations between the products. I will be very tempted at this price. Especially if it gets the mentions possible 2-4 static effects per preset. It will make for a neat little control center for a solo acoustic set-up:I just wrote it in the other thread but I'll repeat it here too: the prices on that Thai distributor contain some vat/tax/charge for sure cuz an fm3 for example costs the equivalent of 1350$. In EU it will probably be in the 700-800€ range including VAT.
The Axe Editor alone worth half the price of HX Stomp for me. I have it opened more than all other apps on my PC combined, and I LOVE it.I have an HXFX, but overall I prefer Fractal’s effects and (gasp) UI.

I absolutely hate Line6's PC apps/plugins UIs - the looks, the workflow, everything is... sub-par, to say the least. Not hating the product or effects, though.
Or you frequently participate in jazz jams (like me) and you don’t know ahead of time what the situation will call for.Yep. I'm not buying that "I might suddenly decide to go with Phaser instead of Chorus" kind of examples.
In a real world you'd need to have both in your board before you can do that. It can be half the price of VP4, BTW. Which mean you CAN do two presets just next to each other if (IF) a song allows you to go Phaser intead of Chorus (I want to hear this song, really), than you will be able to satisfy that urge with VP4.
Or buy the FM3, fill the preset with two Choruses, two Phasers, five Delays and go crazy.

1000€ seems a bit too high honestly compared to the FM3 at 1400€... Anyway, we'll find out pretty soonComparing the Thai prices with the other products, The VP4 is probably headed at 999€
Same - not a fan of the slidersI don’t ‘hate’ the Line6 UI, but I really prefer the Fractal approach.
As a fellow jazz jammer, it's a no-brainer to me with FM3. I even have presets for two guitars with separate routes - gig ready.Or you frequently participate in jazz jams (like me) and you don’t know ahead of time what the situation will call for.
Regardless of platform you still need the preset ready to go…Or you frequently participate in jazz jams (like me) and you don’t know ahead of time what the situation will call for.
I’m on preset a, with a delay and verb and chorus, but really the song calls for some light tremolo at parts too, well unless I’ve got a permutation of that same patch queued up ahead of time, I’m SOL.
Perhaps… going to buy one anyway though! (Maybe two depending on I get on with the first one) automatically it will replace 3 giant boss pedals.Regardless of platform you still need the preset ready to go…
I would think your situation is not the target market for the VP4.
What do you mean by favorites switching? I'm interested in the middle ground it seems you're after, something between pre-built presets with their scenes, and completely ad hoc "I'll just turn some blocks on and set their channels".Or you frequently participate in jazz jams (like me) and you don’t know ahead of time what the situation will call for.

Admittedly I’m not the typical player here.. but THAT is why I would love to see “favorites” switching implemented like channel switching is.
So, let me preface this with I am complete layman and don’t know the first thing about pedal construction/programming…What do you mean by favorites switching? What were you thinking that would look like?

So, I have 4 switches, and on those switches I can set hold function to go into a scroll mode that I can set that will allow me to either scroll channels of a block, or I can set it to scroll through a list of favorite blocks. (A list of my commonly used (but not ALWAYS) used effects. So switch one I could set up with Favorite Envelope Filter as the preset value (the block that is loaded in when I load the preset).. but sometime in the song I will need an Octaver, I want to hold down switch A to enter “Favorites” scroll, and select my octaver without needing to preprogram an Octaver in my preset.
Again, no idea if that’s possible, or even useful enough for most people to make the effort of programming it worth it. Just something I would love to see a company try to tackle.
Interesting. It does seem like you'd still have to pre-program Favorite Envelope Filter, which maybe isn't a lot different than programming it as a scene. I'm also a bit skeptical about much scrolling live, but i guess I'd have to try it to see.So, let me preface this with I am complete layman and don’t know the first thing about pedal construction/programming…

I was more thinking a device such as the VP4, you’re limited to 4 at once, but you can queue up any from your Favorites list at anytime. Seems it’s not possible according to yek above.. which is fine.. just wishful thinking in my partInteresting. I wonder how far you could get down this path with a very flexible controller like the RJM ones.

if you don’t play music with any subtlety or dynamics and don’t care that the delay and reverb all have a cluttered muddy quality to them, then sure. Otherwise you will notice immediately what that turd does to your signal. You lose the bloom and sag and get a cheap flattened representation of your signal instead.
