Fractal VP4!

if you don’t play music with any subtlety or dynamics and don’t care that the delay and reverb all have a cluttered muddy quality to them, then sure. Otherwise you will notice immediately what that turd does to your signal. You lose the bloom and sag and get a cheap flattened representation of your signal instead.
Sorry, probably putting a target on my back here, but this is a load of bollocks.

I have HXStomp, and though I think Fractal Fx sound better and are more tweak-able, it's not a night and day sound difference to my ear - there is a bit of a "smear" character to some extent in some HX Fx models which is not necessarily bad (covers up my sloppy playing better lol!) - Fractal amp modelling is in another league, but the Stomp's physical I/O is unmatched in that size box, and the routing is fantastic (split L/R IO blocks for In/Out and Fx loop).

Perhaps Fractal is thinking about developing and marketing a digital only solution (some kind of plugin or cloud SaaS solution) so they don't have to invest in the hardware design, procurement, tooling, warehousing, shipping, support etc. etc. business?

I guess we all like our foot switches eh?

Yes, I should have written 899. That keeps the ratio of VP4:FM3 at 0.6
Btw, I just noticed that one of the Thai shops that Piing linked also has the Hx Stomp for sale and it's priced at roughly 990$!

If we take that as a reference VP4 should be around 530$ in US.
So I guess we can't determine with certainty how much it'll be before the official announcement

PS: for some reason in Thailand, Fractal products seem to be quite a bit cheaper than Line6 compared to US and especially EU... a Helix is the same price as a FM9 MKII Turbo in those shops! I need to go live in Thailand at this point

This might be the gateway drug for me to buy a tube amp. Full circle. To become the very thing I swore to destroy:laughing:

All this VP-4 talk has me seriously considering taking my Deluxe Reverb out of its case and back in action!

Way ahead of you guy's.
Picked this up about three weeks ago used.
While picking up strings and things, heard another costumer playing it really liked what I heard. Long story short it's mine.

Been onboard with Fractal since the standard but, I still like a tube amp around the house. Plug /Play minimal tweaking and functional art. And sounds glorious! Plus I am a bit of a sucker for the tweed covering.

Although my workflow is like 95+ % Fractal. I cant help myself. The timing of me purchasing the Deluxe, (An amp I was not looking for to begin with) and the VP4 being introduced. ahh - ! I do believe the two are meant to go together, so I see a VP4 in the future.

HELL --- two days after I got the amp I was looking at used FX8's

Don't all of those Strymon Dirty Cloud Deluxe pedals that make U2 noises cost like $700? Seems to me like the VP4 is a relative bargain if it's $800 and can run four instances of the same caliber of effects. Then again it doesn't have a knob with concentrically-arranged LEDs or a brightly-colored housing that looks cool on Instagram and Youtube thumbnails so I guess it has no shot at competing in the market.

**EDIT: I'd like to add that I have nothing against Strymon effects - they certainly sound incredible. I just find the hand-wringing about price and functionality in this thread silly.

Thank you. In the past, they didn't sneak the device around; they typically just announced it on their website, saying, Hey, we've got a new product. Tada! Is this what AI is going to be producing go forward, thats a bummer.
