Software FracPad III - iOS/Android/Mac/Win Editor for the Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, AX8/FX8, Axe-Fx III and FM3/FM9

Third party software for Fractal Audio products.
Ok it's the same situation with AxeFx III, because there are tons of new multitap types, and each parameter visibility is tied to the actual MTD type... So it will need hours to list which parameters is displayed on which type... This block is a mess...
I expected as much. The block really has a $#17load of parameters. Maybe the bare basics would be doable. Like time, feedback, pan, level... Leave the LFO, chorus, modulation, ring mods. etc., for Axe-Edit...

It's indeed a hell of a thing to just get your head around how all the params interact with eachother. F.E. (for example) the Aurora has feedback (into itself), then feedback into another delay engine (f.e. 1->2 end 2->3) for every one of 4 delays. Recipe for madness to think where the first delay repeat goes after that.
I built a "Aurora Simple" in the Delay block that gives a similar effect as the Aurora with a lot less cpu and intricacy. Just a 1/8 Dot and 1/4 Tempo. Of course it's not as gloriously lovely sounding, but who hears that in all the noise of a full band? It's a clearer and better identifiable effect when the rest of the band is playing. But not as glorious...

FracPad III 3.51 is available :
- Fixes Amp block parameters names : They're now longer and reflect more the ones used on the fasDevice/AxeEdit
- Fixes MultiDelay block parameters not shown on specific MultiDelay types. Now all parameters are always shown. Some may not act on specific MultiDelay types though
- Supports AxeFx III firmware 25.00
- Supports FM9 firmware 7.00
- Supports FM3 firmware 8.00b1

Awesome update, Alex! Thanks a million!

It seems like it's much more stable than the previous. No more glitching and going out of sync and did not have the drive SampleRate set to 48 thing.

Nothing changed in regards to what you mentioned, but i'm happy if it works better for you ;)
Can't explain it, but it happened. Maybe next time it'll do that weird stuff again.

fracpad3.app is crashing for me on startup. Apple M2 Max, Sonoma 14.4.1. The screen flashes then crashes. I tried full uninstall and reinstall. No change. I'm thinking about the iPad app, but for that price, I want to try it on macOS first.

Try Fracpad lite on your iPad, it's free.
I don't have m1/m2 apple so i don't know how they handle x86 apps, i guess with emulation...

It's the Rosetta emulation that's crashing. Works ok on x86 macOS. Looks like the problem might be in Qt5. Might be time for an update.

If i update the framework, people with older macos will complain, i have already had this in the past... That's the problem with macs, they are not retrocompatible...

Report FracPad iii ax8 restore bugs:
It’s seems the FracPad3 restore ax8 bank number had something wrong
1. When I restore the ax8 factory preset bundle (bank 1-16 and bank 64), I choose the bank number0 at the FracPad, it’s seems I will lost my factory bank2, and fractory-bank64 goes to the bank2
2. When I program some 1bank presets bundle syx (only one bank of 8 presets) to FracPad bank0(at the restore ui destination bank ) ,it will run into bank 1 of my ax8, so I think bank1=0 bank2=1…etc…
3. But when I program a preset bank syx files to the FracPad restore destination bank17, I found the syx will go into my ax8 bank2

Here’s my operating steps:[ restore my ax8] => find my syx files => [choose destination bank] => press the save at the right-up corner => press the requesting presets name at the left-up

That’s a big problem for me to organize my preset

Here’s my iPad: iPad Pro 2021 12’9 with iPadOS 17.4.1. Connect through usb cable and otg
Ax8 10.01

Please fix it, love u for making good app and wish u have a nice day

When you say restore, you mean recall?
Do you have presets starting at 0 or 1?

It can't, or maybe if something like a file explorer exists on ios, you can copy files from the app's documents folder?
In the iOS file manager there is a folder named "FracPad III", and inside there is another folder named "blocks" (which is completely empty because I have never saved blocks using FracPad)and a file named "fracpad3.log" - that's all that I could find. No set list.

There is another issue that I would like to mention in this context: When the set list is so long that it does not fit on one screen, FracPad does not let me scroll the screen using the "one-finger" gesture as in other apps: when I place the finger on the screen and then "pull" it upwards or downwards, I can see the rest of my set list, but when I release my finger, the list "jumps" back to the state where it was before.

I use FracPad III 3.51 on an first-generation iPad Air with iOS 12.5.7 (this is the latest version of iOS that will run on the device). The iPad is connected to my Axe FX III (firmware: 25.01) using an USB cable.

Hi Frank,
I've looked further, and it seems songs and sets are stored in the app's settings, like other preferences, so it's not a separated file that can be copied... I'm fixing this for next version, moving automatically the songs/sets to a dedicated file from the settings

Also note there's an entry menu "export songs/sets" and "import songs/sets" which could be hepful for you to move your data ;)
