Carrying case?

i don't have other pedals to integrate though, so the FX8 makes sense to put on a board with your other pedals of choice, but perhaps the AX8 could live well on its own, assuming you do most, if not all, in the unit itself.

I just don't like my expensive stuff on the floor like that. An expression pedal? Sure. But my AX8 will get elevated off the floor at least a little bit - I'd rather have beer flow under my PedalTrain than pool around my AX8.

Anyone have any suggestions for a carrying case that is able to contain the AX8 + 2 expression pedals? I currently have a Diago Showman case which contains my MFC101 + two expression pedals and a Shure wireless receiver. However, the internal height of the Diago is 100mm. If the AX8 has the same height as the FX8 (100.6mm) then it will be a very tight fit.

Assuming it's the same dimension as the MFC, I would think it would fit nicely in one of these...

The AX8 looks to be a little over a half-inch wider than the MFC-101.

Rationale:

  • Cliff has posted on this forum that the AX8 is the same size as the FX8.
  • According to the FX8 Owner's Manual (p. 78), the FX8's dimensions are 16.35” x 3.96” x 10.00” (415.29mm x 100.6mm x 254mm).
  • Also, according to the MFC-101 Owner's Manual (p. 81), the MFC-101's dimensions are 15.75” W x 10” L (400 x 254 mm)

Not sure if this will make any real difference in your case or pedal-board plans.

Well... I own an MFC-101 and I have the case. It fits perfectly, even with room to spare for cables. See for yourself...

I guess I'll find out if the AX8 fits when I get... It may be snug, but well shall see....

I'd love to find a gig bag that holds one guitar and has LOTS of extra room for something like AX8, pedals, cables, pizza, etc.

I have one of those for a Mackie DL1608 Mixer... I doubt the AX8 will fit... those are outside dimensions and the walls are pretty thick. I can check it for you when I get my AX8...

Low cost case exterior 18.00 x 6.00 x 13.00
DL1608 15.40 x 3.70 x 11.50
FX8/AX8 16.35 x 3.96 x 10.00

Looks like if the 11.5" of the DL1608 fits in the 13" direction the AX should fit lengthwise. Thanks for the info Nate! Looking forward to your report... SOON!

I have an FX8 on a Pedal train Pro with 2 expression pedals, an Eventide Space, TWA Trisekellion Mk 2, ISP Decimator 2 G-String, ABY Box, and my shure wireless receiver. It all fits in the large bag. You could go one size down easily if you don't have extra pedals on your board.

can you post a pic of your PT?

I've always just used a laptop backpack for my laptop, pedals and cables, i hope the AX8 just slips into one personally ; )
