Before I updated from FW26 to FW27, I recorded 2 tracks from my dual amp setup (doubled it in the „old school“ way) for a part of a new song. After the update, I opened Axe edit again and recorded the same tracks again. There was no audible difference to the FW26 tracks (left was a guitar/cab combo with the Engl Savage1 and right there was the 5153 Stealth Red)
So my question is: Shouldn’t there at least be differences in signal peaks or frequency? I‘m asking because most people here were talking about biiiiig difference and I don’t hear any difference and the release notes were very focused on affecting the high gain amps.
Line 6 "insane" for me. I always wondered why people compared it to a "can of angry bees" They just couldn't dial it in properly. Then I tried an axe Fx3. They were at least half right..it did sound like bees after I made the jumpI used to live on the Bognor Uber in my Line 6 Pod Farm days!![]()

Ha! I never got on with that one but I did like the UI straight jacket scheme. I was always the Uber or Criminal.Line 6 "insane" for me. Thanks for your efforts and Bonus Presets! I love your 5153 preset!Nice ! And with Axe-Edit too, I needed it for the mu-tron
In case you missed my post, here's most of bank A of the factory presets, updated for firmware 27.00 :

There are things other than frequency response that affect how an amp sounds and feels. Things like gain structure, response to picking dynamics, transient response...Before I updated from FW26 to FW27, I recorded 2 tracks from my dual amp setup (doubled it in the „old school“ way) for a part of a new song. 1. The release notes are not "very focused on affecting the high gain amps." In fact the modeling improvements (and the release notes) are focused on edge-of-breakup.I just tracked the other half of the part with FW27, so I was able to run the same riffs in a loop. I don’t wanna be a „Karen“, to be honest, I‘m happy that nothing has changed for me soundwise, as I really already liked it, like it was (and still is) All is good. The only high gain amps I need are the Engl Savage 1 and the 5153 Stealth Red and obviously they haven‘t changed a bit, and I‘m completely fine with that.
Make sure you have the correct firmware version installed (27.00).I'm receiving the "Incorrect Dyna-Cab File Version" message after the update (I have restarted it a few times but still there).
I did install the new Dyna cab pack following the directions provided on the installation instructions.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!
Thanks a lot for the information. For me, those 2 amps are perfect.1. The release notes are not "very focused on affecting the high gain amps." In fact the modeling improvements (and the release notes) are focused on edge-of-breakup.
2. Neither of those amps have a cathode follower so you wouldn't notice any difference there.
3. The improvements to the power amp are most noticeable when the power amp is driven hard. Those amps are typically run with the MV low so, again, you wouldn't likely notice any difference.
For those two particular amps I wouldn't expect a significant difference between 26 and 27.
Everything was up-to-date and they were all from the links in the OP.Make sure you have the correct firmware version installed (27.00).
Reinstall the Dyna Cab data pack. Be sure you are downloading from the link in t
I tried Diezels a few days back, just for fun, didnt expect to jel with them, and now they occupied my main presets.Dizzys
This. The more gain you use, the less difference anything makes.1. The release notes are not "very focused on affecting the high gain amps." In fact the modeling improvements (and the release notes) are focused on edge-of-breakup.
