Did you forget to change the channels when you changed scenes? Review pgs. 9 and 43 in the manual maybe?when I switched to scene 2, all my choices & settings of amp & effects remained the same (except for bypass states, which I don't care about, since that's what I'll be changing in the various scenes), except for the cabs, which reverted to the defaults of Factory 1, #1.
Sounds like the channel changed in the cab block when you changed scenes.Maybe this is one for @FractalAudio
I made a basic preset with 2 Rev Amps in parallel, a Dyna Cab Recto Slant in 2 slots with different mics, chorus, delay & reverb. I realize I can use Scene Manager, but when I switched to scene 2, all my choices & settings of amp & effects remained the same (except for bypass states, which I don't care about, since that's what I'll be changing in the various scenes), except for the cabs, which reverted to the defaults of Factory 1, #1.
I've never built a preset from scratch before, so I don't know if this is expected behavior or not. Why doesn't it retain all my initial choices?
Celestion's DSR are not the same as Fractal's Dyna-Cabs, so whether it's a Mk I, II or III doesn't matter. Their software requires their plugin, which has nothing to do with Fractal. With the new Dynacabs in the firmware does anyone know if the Fractal AxeFXIII non-turbo can use the Celestion DSR's and is it worth it? Or should I just buy the standard IR's?
Thank you!

I didn't touch channels, but just to be sure, I built the same preset from scratch again, and yes, when I switched to scene TWO, everything stayed the same this time. But when I switched to scene THREE and 8, only the Cab channel changed to B. It remained on channel A (where I'd loaded the Recto Slant Dyna cab into 2 slots) on all other scenes.Sounds like the channel changed in the cab block when you changed scenes.
If you don’t want anything to change with the cab, then while on the channel you want, click the channel drop down for the cab, and select copy current channel to all and hit save….won’t happen again. I don’t think you have a bug.I didn't touch channels, but just to be sure, I built the same preset from scratch again, and yes, when I switched to scene TWO, everything stayed the same this time. This doesn't seem right. I mean, it's easy enough to RECTO-fy (see what I did there?), but seems like a bug to me.
Btw, I picked effects that were different from the ones that first load by default. They also remained the same, and didn't change channels.
I'm not looking for a different way to do what I want to do. As I said in my OP, I realize I could just use Scene Manager to copy my first scene to all other scenes, and everything would stay the same.If you don’t want anything to change with the cab, then while on the channel you want, click the channel drop down for the cab, and select copy current channel to all and hit save….won’t happen again. I don't think I'm telling you a different way to do it.......I'm telling you {I believe} how to fix it. If you try what I said in post #251, and then start another new patch, does it still have the issue? If so, then I will stop trying to help you, and you can report it to whoever you wish as a bug. All I'm saying is, I don't have the issue on my III.I'm not looking for a different way to do what I want to do. My issue is: Why do the other blocks- IN1, OUT1, Amp 1 & 2, Chorus, Delay, & Reverb..., ALL stay on channel 1 when I switch to other scenes, but the Cab block does not? AND, it seems to choose which scene to change to channel 2 in, at random, since in the first preset I built, it did it in scene 2, yet when I built the preset a 2nd time, it switched to channel 2 in scenes 3 and 8.
Maybe, since the Cab Block had a major change to its behavior in this latest FW, there could be something not working the way it's supposed to.
I mean, I don't really care, because in the future I can just use SM to copy S1 to ALL. I'm just trying to point out what I see as a weird behavior. I mean, why is it only exhibiting this behavior with the Cab Block and no others? Sure seems like a bug to me.
I'm sorry about the channels- yes they are ABCD, not 1234. (Edited in both my posts wherein I mentioned channels.)I don't think I'm telling you a different way to do it.......I'm telling you {I believe} how to fix it. Edit: Also, just as an aside.....my channels are all lettered ABC&D, not numbered as you indicate, so, not sure what's up with that.

I just built some quick presets in different <EMPTY> slots using several blocks - In 1, Drive 1, Amp 1, Amp 2, Cab 1, Cab 2, Delay 1, Reverb 1 and Out 1. All blocks were automatically on Channel A when added to the grid.I'm not looking for a different way to do what I want to do. I'm really beginning to think that the Axe somehow "remembers" certain things that were done in the past, maybe dependent on which row was used, or whether it was the last preset in which a 2nd Amp Block was used, or some other thing that is somehow similar to the last time an item was placed on the grid, or a different channel was chosen, or the phase of the moon, etc., even if that previous preset had not been saved. I still think that is weird behavior, but..., anyway.I just built some quick presets in different <EMPTY> slots using several blocks - In 1, Drive 1, Amp 1, Amp 2, Cab 1, Cab 2, Delay 1, Reverb 1 and Out 1. All blocks were automatically on Channel A when added to the grid.
The first preset had Amp 2 and Cab 2 in parallel and there were different channels displayed for several blocks in different scenes.
Second preset, I removed Amp 2 and Cab 2 for an all series chain. Only the Amp 1 and Delay 1 blocks changed channels, to Channel B, on Scene 2. The rest of the scenes they remained on Channel A.
Built a third preset that was similar to the first but added Chorus and Flange blocks in parallel as well as a Pitch block. Again, Amp 1 and Delay 1 changed to Channel B in Scene 2 only.
Built preset 1 again and the Amp 1 and Delay 1 blocks were the only blocks that changed channels on Scene 2.
The channels for Cab block 1 or 2 only changed in the very first preset. They remained on channel A across all scenes in the rest of the presets.
But what I do know now is, moving forward, I won't rely on a configuration I've laid out in Scene 1, staying the same across the other scenes, automatically.
Not the Axe — the editor.I'm really beginning to think that the Axe somehow "remembers" certain things that were done in the past...

Aah..., ok.Not the Axe — the editor.![]()
