@Perdikament I would love to see a SS of your settings, I am guessing you mean grid bias is set to 1.0, what does adding in the cathode follower mean? lowering the input trim and switching to KT88's gets me in the ballpark where I have a clean yet dirty sound that has a nice high end thing...

I don't know if I've ever wanted an amp so badly after hearing a demo, I hope you love it @theblogjammers ! The k60 I owned was one of the best sounding/feeling amps I ever had, 6v6, 6L6, EL34's all sounded great. I hope to see a review of your Silver Cloud post honeymoon.

I want to create this sound in my Axe 3 any suggestions on how to recreate this? The Silver Cloud is cathode biased, with KT88's, NMV, tone-stack-bypass knob, I think is has a really killer top end that's different from the glassiness of an AC30 Thanks!

Taming the Monster - Series and Parallel Routing

finally got to really spend some time with this video and the Axe 2 and WOW! when I used amps I usually only put a delay in the effects loop (if the amp I was using even had one) and that was about it, I don't use many effects in general... by putting mostly everything in parallel... my patches...

4 me the cab version will be a smaller footprint on stage I probably will still prefer the wedge... But the smaller footprint will be very welcomed to reduce the real estate I take up onstage

before I settled on FRFR (Atomic CLR is my fave RCF-NX12SMA grabs second place, I have not tried Matrix cabs) I really enjoyed using 1x12's and 2x12's with many different speakers, my fave 1x12 was ported, oversized and contained an evm 12l, my favorite 2x12 had WGS et65's in it OR a set of WGS...

Hey Kriig- The Variax 89F is really a great guitar, I'm not a huge fan of the neck profile, it's very shredderish. I wish it had the profile of a JTV69. It stays in tune very well and sounds great for a do-it-all kind of guitar. My fave JTV for sure. that bass player and I have been together...

I agree with the above post, if you want a more vintage-y vibe LSL is the tits... something a little more modern the Suhr takes the cake, both are excellent and south of $2k if bought used... a nice Suhr C1 is on TGP and the same with a LSL Saticoy... both great guitars for the $$$

++++++ Line 6 G90 issues..............

I've never had any issues with my G50 or G90, but I purchased plenty of good cords from Lava Cable (lil xlr to 1/4 inch) I have to believe this is the difference, I never have any dropouts or any issues, mine lil xlr always lock as well... set it and forget it, Lava Cable is a great company...

Updating the MFC shouldn't be this difficult

Every time I've updated my MFC it's never been easy, I always go first with the recommended buffer size and then find a size OVER 100 is what actually works, 110 was what worked for me this time. If you don't see a percentage and FW UPDATE is all you are seeing (this happened to me as well) it...

why does this feel a little like unrequited love... thankfully I'm incredibly happy with my RCF NX12-SMA, guitar cabs and Matrix ... since I just own the Axe and a MFC (as compared to a couple of amps,cabs, pedalboards, etc) the GAS in me is very excited for these, I have $$$ to spend, but...

Great Show Dweezil!

the ZPZ tour is an absolute must for every music fan to witness, I saw FZ many times when he was alive and I greatly appreciate Dweezil carrying the torch, it's an amazing display of musicality/fun/composition/arranging ZPZ tour- Zappa Plays Zappa > Tour Dates

Don't hesitate, they were right - RCF NX 12SMA

I continue to be incredibly impressed by the RCF, I like guitar cabs with my Axe 2 but this RCF is really amazing, I find it punchy and articulate and it has a ton of headroom... if FRFR has never been your thing, this might be your game changer, it certainly is mine... just with the stock cabs...

Just got my first RCF NX12 SMA

just joined the club and man this thing makes a big difference... really impressed... many thanks to Mike at Audiopyle right now I have an Xitone 1x12, a QSC K10, a RCF NX12SMA and a 2x12 cab with WGS Brits... I feel very fortunate to be able to A/B all of these items can't wait to gig with...
