Effects rack for Axefx

Love the Roto Racks, I have a 4 and 6 space. The only downside is that the protective handles on the Axe make the front cover a bit of a tight fit. PM me if you're interested in getting one, I know people :lol: Robert

Finally getting rid of all my pedals!

I get your thinking (except I have an M9 ;) ). There are a few pedals I can't recreate in either without devoting a full preset and others I can't recreate at all. Those will go into an RJM loop switcher like Dweezil's rig. Having my full rig down to a 6 space rack is just mind blowing to me...

Apologies for the OT... Allan isn't endorsing 11R, he was provided an evaluation unit. He took it out on the HOBOLEMA improv tour but it isn't in his rig. He did get a chance to check the AxeFX out on his recent east coast tour but I haven't heard anything beyond that.

Axe FX Ultra and expression pedals...

With my Liquid foot I used M-Audio and Boss expression pedals, Boss FV500 and now the Moog MP-201. The FV pedal feel and weight was my favorite, but the functionality of the MP is far superior to me. Robert

Small floor controller / Moog MP-201

I have one and use it for expression control from my Liquid Foot, M9 and EH HOG. So far I use the channel mode to get combinations of the pedals, nothing advanced yet. As soon as I Ebay a few things I plan to get another one to control on/off of pedals in a loop switcher. The phantom issue...

Use a UA 610 MKII as Preamp, Ultra for Reamping. Suggestions

The 610 has a ton of character, maybe too much to print on an initial pass. Your ears will be the judge. If you're following traditional signal path, you route the Axe output through the mic pre regardless of if you're tracking live or re-amping. If you lay down a track through the pre first...

what is your usual delay stuff for solos?

My main delay for saturated lead is stereo with 350ms L and 450ms R, no repeat and 6db rolloff ,no modulation, mixed 50-50. For crunch I like 500ms with 30% repeats, modulation, 18db rolloff mixed about 25% Clean is a doubling delay about 65ms, no modulation, 12db rolloff, no repeats

Fluid legato phrasing, with no pick attack, ala Holdsworth..

In addition to para or graphic EQ, I like using a boost before the amp with a fair amount of mid emphasis and bass/treble roll off. There's a fine line between how much preamp gain and power amp saturation to use, I'm still working that out. I'm testing now using a boost pedal, boost in the amp...

Tannoy Reveals vs Dynaudio BM

My impression is that Dynaudios are detailed in the mids and smooth but not as compressed a Genelec. Reveals are a little more boxy and not as detailed in the mids but really good for the money. If you want super detailed go for Adam. Contact me offline and I can get into more specifics for...

help with delay settings.

I usually run 350 and 450 on a dual delay with no repeats. Works for fast or slow solos for me. Collapsed down to mono it still works. You could also use a pitch shift with detune to "fatten" I run the mix to the point where I can barely hear the delay signal in headphones. That way at full...

Tried it and didn't like it. Weird quaky high end, farty bass. Eq really wasn't in a range that helped. The setup with the integrated stand is great, easily transported, fairly light. All that means nothing if it doesn't sound great. And for me with the Axe it doesn't.
