    FS SOLD: Axe-Fx II & MFC-101 $900

I am selling my Axe-Fx II (MK I) and MFC-101 (MK I) for $900, shipped (from Spokane, WA), domestic US only. Both are in great condition--very clean, were moderately gigged, and the Axe-Fx was always racked in a case (and the outputs were always cabled to a custom patch bay). Included are the...

    Get Yer 11.0 Beta Here!

Back to the thread topic+ ... I gigged with V11b, last night, and used my CLR for the first time out of the house, too. I was going to wait until after the gig to upgrade, but after reading Cliff's comment about not hesitating to use it, I loaded it (after a full backup, of course). We played...

trying to get on waiting list for Atomic active CLR cab

I'm sure Tom will reply. I sent my request in on March 5th and (it must have been a busy period) I got a response on March 11th. He put me on the list based on the date of my original request.

Need to reset FCB1010 UnO to non-stompbox, non-direct-select mode

I just sold my FCB w/UnO, set up with stompbox mode. The buyer wants non-stompbox, non-direct-select mode--so, each bank is ten patches, controlled by the numbered switches. He doesn't have access to a MIDI interface, so I've been helping him reprogram it without using software. We now have...

Bringing my Ultra to Fortune Magazine's Battle of the Corporate Bands

We did: Pinball Wizard Your Love/Jesse's Girl mashup Stuck in the Middle With You Love Shack We didn't win, but we had a lot of fun performing. I hope we get the opportunity to compete again, next year (I'll bring my II, next time!).

Bringing my Ultra to Fortune Magazine's Battle of the Corporate Bands

If you have nothing to do this Saturday (7/14) afternoon (from Noon-3:30ish), my company's (Tableau Software) band, "Dragged & Dropped" is competing with five other bands at the Western Regionals of FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands | The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. We'll be at...

Axe freezing when using USB audio (Mac/Logic)

Yes, weird, no? You can also see the signal in Axe Edit (under "MIDI -> MONITORS"), but no sound. As you said, "no biggie", but it does seem a bit strange.

Axe freezing when using USB audio (Mac/Logic)

Yes, it shows up there and in the Sound app (through System Preferences). I can see the input signal (strumming my guitar) in the Sound app, but no sound comes through my audio interface unless I launch Logic and select the Axe II USB as the audio input in the Logic Audio preferences. In the...

Axe freezing when using USB audio (Mac/Logic)

I can't speak to the freezing issues, but I am receiving audio into Logic with my Mac Mini and sending output to my Sapphire interface. The problem I have is that i have to have Logic launched to hear the output from the Axe, but this is a different issue from your topic.

Trouble using AXEFX II with Macbook

I haven't tried sending sound from my computer through the Axe, yet. I already have my computer going out through my Sapphire interface. I used to send my Ultra into the Sapphire, too, from the analog outputs, but I was hoping to eliminate the analog patching. I can see that the input signal...

Trouble using AXEFX II with Macbook

Thanks, your suggestion helped me (except I launched Logic instead of Garage Band). Does anyone know if this is necessary with OS X Lion? With Snow Leopard, the volume controls for the Axe II are disabled in the "Audio MIDI Setup" app, but I can see an active signal through Axe Edit and...

    Any users based on Maui?

(sorry if this is the wrong place to post this) Are there any Ultra or II users on Maui? I have a good friend/great (performing) guitarist who is very interested in seeing an Axe-Fx unit, first hand. I've been telling him about it for the past few years. Thanks, Ed

    MFC101 Tuner Problem

+1 The tuner was on the first page and "Send Realtime Sysex" was on "All" and it didn't work. The issue was that I had configured the tuner to "Pedal 1", instead of the (default) value of "15" (I/O -> Ctrl -> Tuner).

First time slighty disappointed with Fractal...

I forget how long I had waited for my Ultra (more than a year), so I learned to put the MFC out of my mind, while I (successfully) used my FCB/UNO. I just got the magic email (on the list since 7/08) and now it is very much on my mind! :)

    Coolest Accessory for the Axe-FX

I thought about making my own but I don't have the tools, and having someone else just drill out the faceplate was ridiculously expensive. I was really tiring have having all my cords stored in the back of the rack case. Now I just have two power cables coming out the back. Once I get a...

    Coolest Accessory for the Axe-FX

Marshall JCM800 Tweak Guide with Version 9.x Firmware

+1 I have been spending the weekend (up till 2AM last night, and too late tonight) redoing my patches for 9.0. I haven't been too happy with them (but I haven't put in the time, like some have ). I tossed (well, lost through what I thought was a backup) most of mine and picked out a...

    Basic FCB1010 w/ Uno Help

I think I see part of your problem. It sounds like you are hooking the "Switch 1" and "Switch 2" to the Axe-Fx. Instead, you should be hooking up the "MIDI Out" to the "MIDI In" of the Axe-Fx. I think the switch outputs are to control other devices, not the Axe-Fx. To answer your question...

    7-pin midi cable

The Axe doesn't come with one. You must use a power supply that matches the specs of the controller. You will either have to buy the Liquid Foot power adapter (listed on their site, for $14.95), or find one that matches its specs (also listed at the LF site). Ed

    Firmware update confusion

I'm not sure where you got 17.8 ... It was 7.18, recently, before 8.00, then (quickly) 8.01 and 8.02. If you don't upload the new factory presets, your presets will still be there. As far as what affect the update will have on them, you will need to read the firmware release notes. Ed

How do I view contents of User 1 - 10 cabs?

At this time, there is no way to query the Axe-Fx for this info. There is an enhancement request to be able to dump these, which would at least allow you to match (by comparison of contents, or checksum) what was loaded with what you have on your harddrive. For now, you just have to be good...

How to hook up to interface and controller at same time?

I believe the Midisport is supposed to be able to do that, when in USB mode. I couldn't get it to work on my Mac, however, and I ended up modding a sample MIDI application to echo from one port to the other.

I have been using the UNO (1.0.2f) for over a year, and I decided to try the all-stomp patch method that Jay is using (even though he doesn't have an UNO chip). The stomp-box row, specified using RipWerx (12.2.0), works flawlessly. The other row of buttons, which are configured with the same...

Yes, and it looks like the Eastside may be convenient for us! I'm considering the 12ma or the Fractomic, myself. For a controller, I am getting by with the FCB1010, but am waiting to see how the MFC does. Classic-to-newer Rock sounds ... you? Ed

    Something different....a little violin

I used this patch at practice, last night, on our cover of Rod Stewart's Maggie Mae. The band was blown away! We're going live with it. Also, I got a nice effect the other day, having a LFO control the pitch of the synth block, with a slow, narrow sweep. I got the sound of two violins...

    Stomp mode without Uno?

+1 The FCB1010 with UnO is very useable, though I did buy it with the intention of replacing it with the Fractal or Liquid Foot controller. For now, I've increased the number of IAs by using two (Yamaha) momentary-switch pedals.
