Real Friedman BE-50 or Axe-Fx 3?

I'd go Axe-Fx III. While I'd love a real Friedman, having a model of that amp that is 99.9% like the real thing, along with hundreds of other amps and thousands of cabs, the Fractal really is too good to say no to IMO.

Is Guthrie Govan the Best* player?

He's the best in my book. I've been lucky enough to chat with him a couple of times at private masterclasses and watching him play up close is honestly scary. He's like a magician. You honestly can't believe what you're hearing/seeing.

Not a Bug AX8-Edit suddenly not working

All fixed now. For some reason the AX8 just doesn't like one of my USB ports. Even though the port works perfectly fine with everything else and has never been an issue until now... Weird.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried it with everything closed but no success. I'm fairly certain the USB cable and AX8 are fully functional as Windows recognises the AX8 when I turn it on. It's just that AX8-Edit will crash instantly.... Very weird.... It did work on 1803. However I not sure...

Friedman advices

Do you mean the saturation switch on the actual amp? If so, that is achieved by setting the saturation switch to "Auth" on the AX8. It's in the basic page of the amp block. For mixing the cabs, you'll need the Fractal Cab Lab software for that.

Communication timeout problem with Q.8

Not using an Axe-Fx 2, but I have this same problem with my AX8. Multiple timeouts on a daily basis. Great to see a fix is on the way, hopefully, it will come over to the next AX8 release too.

Do you touch adv parameters in the amp block? Which and what for?

Supro Tremolo anyone?

Doesn't seem too far out there. Just seems to be a tremolo with a bit of grit to it. Not using my AX8 writing this but you could try putting in a tremolo block and put a drive block after it but keep the mix of the drive low? Nice pedal!

Downgrading to 6.02. Presets that functioned perfectly fine on 6.02 are now hitting the CPU limit and my reverb is being disabled. When I change scenes on V7 it works fine for a second and then there is a HUGE volume spike and I get the CPU warning and the reverb gets disabled

I am having trouble deciding on a MIDI foot controller for AXE FX 2

I've got no idea where you heard that but it's wrong. The MFC is the only foot controller that plays nice with the Fractal out of the box. It's made by Fractal and is literally plug and play. It's built like a tank and is very customisable. I'd highly recommend it.

What is "it" that the axe fx is missing?

I personally think that the only thing the Axe is "missing" is that it's not a loud amp. Thus you don't have the feeling of a loud amp cranked in a room. Power amp and a Cab fixes this. However, the sound of the Axe-Fx is the same. If you compare recordings of the Fractal and the real amp there...

Fixed it now, it was changing X/Y states on the Amp block that was causing the lag. Just changed it to a two amp setup instead and it's working like a charm now. Thanks for the suggestions!

Just checked the Wiki, apparently lead drive is the over drive knob in the Axe-Fx. I already have this set to max and still get no where near the amount of gain I've heard these Amps put out. Very confused but thanks man!

Best way to make a patch for use with real cab?

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'll definitely be taking it in for a jam session to mess around with settings but I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do at home to make things easier when i get there :) Cheers! :)

Hey everyone, Normally I just run my Axe-Fx direct but soon I'll be taking it into University and there I am unable to do this. I'll be running it through the FX return of the amp head into an Orange 4x12. My question is, at home when I am using my Axe-Fx 2 through monitors, what is the best...

What is the equivalent of an amp's STANDBY switch on the Axe-Fx?

Either tuner with mute or just hit the Bypass button. The tuner with mute will give you a true muted signal though.

A few new shots of the Edge's 2015 rig

Although I think this rig major overkill, I love seeing artists make the switch to Fractal. It really is proof of how great Fractal has done on their modelling. The future of Guitar tone for sure.

Trying to use my acoustic with the Axe Fx 2

Axe Fx II as an audio interface - what are your impressions ?

For the most part, my XL+ works perfectly as an audio interface. My only issue with it is that after updating to OS X El Captain, Guitar Pro 6 won't play back through the Axe-Fx, it just makes a horrible screeching sound. I suspect this is a Guitar Pro issue though as the Axe works perfectly...

Fair enough. I thought this was a bug as before I updated to FW19, it could edit on either at any time with Axe-Edit running with no issues whatsoever
