Axe-FX II, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, iMac 27 and SPDIF help needed

I have a similar setup, AXE-FX and Sapphire Pro. If you are having trouble with spdif you can setup a aggregate device on your Mac, using the Axe USB and the sapphire firewire. This way you don't have to change input devices in Logic to record guitar or other stuff through the sapphire.

Do I need a Buffer pedal for 4C method?

I've used this setup with my JVM a few times and have found a similar result. I did find that on some JVMs the parallel loop actually gives more gain if you turn the mix knob down slightly. This sounds funny but several people reported the same problem with their JVMs. I actually got better...

Please teach me about fender amps!

The way I use Fender combos is this: I turn the volume up just to the point of breakup, this gives a clean tome when the guitar is turned down and a nice fat bluesy tone when turned up. The use an overdrive to push the preamp for leads. YMMV but I think this is a common way to use them.

Yes, people even make IRs of favourite recording studio hardware, well like reverbs etc.

Is there any legit reasons why only playing in one key on every song is a bad idea?

This makes it difficult to play with anyone else in a band using the usual instruments, except the drummer maybe.

    Tiny Shocks - Grrrr!!!!

You really need to sort this, one day it might kill you. It is probably an earth problem at the venue. To avoid earth loops it is best to power all the stage equipment from one socket, this usually eliminates the problem.

Better distortion. Amp vs Drive pedal?

As the another poster said, Brian May used the treble booster in front of the normal channel. In an AC30 when everything is turned up full they can get quite bassy, so the TB cancels this out as well as giving some gain.

Any tips on staying in tune?

If it's more than one guitar that is causing problems it's got to be environmental or the problem is you. Do you still string them up the same way? Temperature changes have affected my guitars but once tuned they stay tuned for a gig. Some of my friends have tuning problems and it usually turns...

    Neutral Tube Poweramp for Axe

You can run valves in the linear region just as you can solid state devices, there are plenty of good quality stereo amplifiers based on valves, but there are no real advantages, a solid state device will probably be lighter.

can't decide between jackson and ibanez

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I looked for a superstrat myself and settled on the Ibanez JS24, a bit out of your price range but it is beautifully made and an excellent playing guitar. As another poster said it probably boils down to which neck profile you like.

Recording with Logic Pro x and Axe FX II - Latency issues

As others have said Logic Pro will automatically re-sample to whatever the project is set to. Running Amp Head through Axe-Fx Via Reactive Load

I tried both, just using the FX return and using the whole 4CM thing so I could put the AXE-FX Treble booster in front of the amp for the you know who sound. Though as others have said I ended up just using the AXE, less toting.

Opinions of the Centerpoint Spacestation V.3

With the reverb thing I've found that the space station seems to make them even more reverby. I've reduced mine a lot too especially in areas that have lots of reflective surfaces. The stereo spread knob makes quite a difference too.

How to control sustain on one note ?

All mechanical and electronic systems have natural resonances so some notes will naturally sustain more easily. Mine arrived and I haven't exhaustively tested it but here are some of first impressions. Amp block's EQ page - am I using this correctly?

DAW output level too low/axe fx too high

I think you have problems a lot of which are finger trouble, poor computer setup, and lack of understanding of your equipment. Mackie Thump15 Active

You don't see these mentioned as they're too cheap for this crowd. I've used them and with a bit of EQ they sound OK, just don't expect them to be flat. The K12s are better no doubt but twice as good? IMHO only. :-)

using FBV shortboard MKII as a controller.

The USB on the FBV is designed to be plugged into a computer, the Kenton box mimics the computer (type B ????) and gives you ordinary 5 pin MIDI in/out. The USB powers the FBV as well. All very neat.

using FBV shortboard MKII as a controller.

I'm new to the AXE-FX and I guess this has been covered quite a bit but just a little endorsement for the Kenton Electronics USB host box thing. I had the shortboard left over from my POD days and wanted to use it with the AXE-FX, this solution works very well. It is a little expensive but I...
